are new developments in JC required to allow a small percentage of units to affordable housing, since this has been proven a much more successful model than having all low income housing in one location which has obviously been proven not to work?

i hear nothing of all these new developments with an allowance for this, but where are the displaced tenants of all the projects that are being torn down?

Yes many of the new buildings have a low income portion to them. This makes the Dems happy as they can appear to be helping the poor while they find homes for those politically connected

Makes me happy I'm not living in Hoboken. The last thing we need is more city sponsored welfare.

At least in BeLa, there aren't any displaced-the Baker Building, the church school loft, the up coming converted church, the new proposals for Johnston/Monitor-all were built on properties that didn't have residents previously.

A Hoboken friend familiar with both their and our development policies was appalled at how little JC gets from developers in exchange for variances and abatements. They said Fulop is simply giving away the store.
