State wide food trucks at Saturday May 18th Bayonne Food Truck Festival

In addition to the food trucks, the event will include childrens’ rides, sand art, live music, and a beer and wine garden for the adults. The musical entertainment will include concerts by The Nerds and The Suyat Band. A stage for performances will be set up at 23rd Street and Avenue E.

JC Cathedral Arts Festival to host "Big 3-0 Gala" Sat. May 18
On Sat, May 8, beginning at 7 pm, Grace Church Van Vorst on Erie Street in Jersey City will host its 30th Anniversary celebration of the CATHEDRAL ARTS FESTIVAL (CAF), a gala of friends and community members coming together to support the church’s outreach and regale in artworks by local artists. This year, five curators have put together an exhibition of eclectic art that will dazzle and inspire. Beth Achenbach, Cat Hecht, Robinson Holloway, Andrea Morin and Amy Elise de Jong.

Jersey City – Mayor Steven M. Fulop, New Jersey Secretary of State Tahesha Way and representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), are asking Jersey City residents to share why they count at a kickoff event to mark one year until the 2020 Census. As we start the countdown toward the 2020 Census, the City will unveil a life-sized chalkboard installation outside of City Hall on Monday, April 1, at 9:30am that asks the community to fill in why they count.

The Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Art of Yoga “Zen Survival Session” combines a reflection on the New York Times best-selling book, Station Eleven, with an emotional- and physical-survival, family yoga workshop that is inspired by the book. Station Eleven was selected for Jersey City’s citywide participation in the 2019 “Big Read,” an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.

The City of Jersey City honored Veterans Saturday, November 10th, 2018 with its Annual Veterans Day Parade.

Jersey City’s Veterans Day Parade has grown larger each year and parade goers lined the parade route as the many contingents marched, which included Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, a former US. Marine who saw action in the first gulf war and Councilmen Daniel Rivera and Richard Boggiano also former Marines.

Hudson County Community College Announces Spring 2018 Full Time Dean's List

JERSEY CITY, N.J. / October 2, 2018 — Hudson County Community College announced that 521 full-time students were eligible for the Dean’s List for the Spring 2018 semester.

Full-time degree students who have completed all Academic Foundations and ESL courses and have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and no ‘F’ grades in the current semester are eligible for the Dean’s List.

Mayor Steven M. Fulop announces five “parklets” being installed around the City in an effort to create more public space and enhance the pedestrian experience. The five parklets are mini-parks which will temporarily turn a standard parking space into a place for the public to enjoy with seating, landscaping, lighting, art and more.

A life in art, that’s exactly what William La Rosa set out to do in his 30-year tenure as Director of the Hudson County Office of Cultural Affairs. Before retiring in September 2017, La Rosa facilitated programs that helped local visual and performing artists. He founded the Local Arts Program (LAP) grants that, over the years, provided thousands of dollars to local artists and arts organizations.

Filmmaker Delaney Buffett took a film crew to Florida to interview ‘mermaids’ swishing their tales in underwater ballets at the Weeki Wachee Springs mermaid theater for her documentary THE SPRING. This award-winning documentary short can be seen — along with four other shorts by women filmmakers — at Hudson County Community College’s first-ever Indie Film Festival on Thurs, Mar. 15, Thurs, Apr. 12, Tues, Apr. 17, and Sat, Apr. 28.
