You are very pointed in your opinion. Why would you wish harm to anyone. I am, frankly,terrified of the vaccine based on the reports of very competent people such as Drs. Hoffe (Vancouver), Brindle (Ontario), Weinstein (Portland OR), McCullough (Texas), Hodgkinson (Ontario), Gert Vander Bossh [sp?] (Belgium) etc etc. These doctors are having their professional lives and personal lives destroyed by the vaccines forces. All of these experts are leaders in their fields which range from virology, epidemiology, evolutionary biology, internal medicine, etc. A young security guard at my office died of the shot, leaving two children. A young man at church had a heart attack at 36 two weeks after the second Pfizer. He is agnostic about the connection but had no prior heart disease, no elevated cholesterol,, no family history.

I am a lawyer and I am also freaked out by the complete over reach of the government. Where are the civil libertarians. None of this is legal. All of these measures are contrary to the normal public health response and follow the Chinese Communist Model. Not a great precedent!


Yet, I pray daily that no one is harmed from the vaccines. Almost everyone I know and love is vaccinated! But even if I knew no one who was vaccinated, I would stilll never wish them harm. Also I pray for mild disease for anyone suffering from the virus, which is the norm overwhelming, for those with the virus.

How can you actually wish and exult in the death and suffering of the unvaccinated? Schaedenfraude is a vice you know. Do not let yourself become such a creature of this current hysteria. I am sure you are a better person than that.

Also, try to express yourself in standard English as this is not a locker room.

Yea- I wondered about the authors' qualifications too! The wiki page on Stephanie Seneff indicates that she has a BS in biophysics, Masters in Electrical Engineering and PhD in Computer Science. However, they are all form MIT. According to wikipedia, she has been doing public health stuff since 2011 which has garnered significant criticism. A friend keeps sending me articles from The Atlantic. However, Covid coverage at the magazine is paid for by J&J and Facebook. Thus, nothing in its coverage can be considered trustworthy.

I had already many doubts about the CDC, the WHO, etc, by May 2020. But when these groups all supported mass demonstrations often violent in the streets "because racism was a worse virus than covid," I adopted the posture of "assume they are lying."

Anyway, I don't you, Dr. Rivera, but I assume you are of good will. Not sure why you were so snarky in your response. I ardently hope and pray that the misgivings of some scientists about the vaccine are wrong as almost everyone I know and love is vaccinated.

The reality is Republican Judges are enforcing vaccine mandates. Once there's even an emergency approval for vaccine for children under 12, parents will have little choice.

I don't see how DeathSantis' mandates can survive judicial review when Republican Judges are enforcing vaccine mandates.

I saw on the news the number given to Texas and Florida are not valid. Florida's numbers are one third higher and Texas's numbers on children include numbers from the beginning of the pandemic. Politics should be removed from data and the public should just be given the facts. Of course covid is increasing, a high percentage of the immigrants crossing the border has the delta variant and probably other variants will also pop up down the road.

Kind of technical, but one gets the idea. If this was published in May, all of this had to have been known from virtually the roll of out the vaccines. Much more has come out since May. America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) filed a motion July 19, seeking immediate injunctive relief in Alabama Federal District Court to stop the use of Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) COVID vaccines — Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) — for three groups of Americans.

According to a press release, AFLDS is asking to immediately stop administration of experimental COVID vaccines in anyone 18 and younger, all those who have recovered from COVID and acquired natural immunity, and every other American who has not received informed consent as defined by federal law.

Kids make up 15% of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. and some doctors say they're getting sicker

More and more children are testing positive for COVID-19, and some doctors are not only reporting an uptick in cases but more severe illness for kids who contract the virus.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, 93,824 child COVID-19 cases were reported between July 29 and August 5, with children representing 15% of the weekly reported cases in the U.S. Since July 22, the total number of child COVID-19 cases has jumped 4%. As of August 5, nearly 4.3 million children in the U.S. have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

And while severe illness due to COVID-19 is uncommon among children, "there is an urgent need to collect more data on longer-term impacts of the pandemic on children, including ways the virus may harm the long-term physical health of infected children, as well as its emotional and mental health effects," the academy says.

Some doctors in Seattle have reported an increase of children with serious illness from COVID-19, urgent care nurse practitioner Justin Gill told CBSN last week. Gill said kids are not as susceptible to serious illness as adults, but with more cases come more hospitalizations.

"With Delta variant, we are seeing some younger people, even vaccinated and unvaccinated, but the vast majority of cases who get hospitalized tend to be unvaccinated individuals," Gill said. Kids under 12 cannot yet receive COVID-19 vaccines, which are still undergoing testing in younger age groups.

"Many of the people admitted here at Seattle Children's, as mentioned by multiple articles here, are unvaccinated people over the age of 12 and unvaccinated under the age of 12," Gill said. He added that vaccine approval for children under 12, which could come this fall, will be a big step in reducing those numbers.
Health experts believe the Delta variant is behind the uptick in cases. Dr. John McGuire, who works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Seattle Children's, told local Seattle station KOMO-TV that he hopes to get through this latest wave of the pandemic "as quickly as possible."

McGuire said a vast majority of child COVID-19 cases are in kids who are too young to get the shot — or whose families are unvaccinated.

"That's worrisome," he told the station. "We had hoped that with increased vaccine in the general population, we would see fewer cases."

"One way to protect [kids], because they're not yet eligible, is to have the people that they're around be vaccinated," he added.

Gill said masks are also important to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including for vaccinated people who may be exposed to high loads of the virus.

"Mask use, specifically in schools where you have a large number of unvaccinated children potentially, is a common sense step to help us get over the pandemic," he said.

Seattle isn't the only U.S. city seeing a surge in children's cases. CBS News correspondent David Begnaud reported Sunday night that Children's Hospital New Orleans currently has 18 children hospitalized with COVID-19, including six in the ICU and three who were on ventilators.

Begnaud visited Children's Hospital New Orleans on July 29, when the hospital reported 20 children hospitalized with COVID-19. "A lot of these kids are very sick with respiratory symptoms. Literally starved for oxygen," Dr. Mark Kline told Begnaud.

Jacquez Lee, a 17-year-old high school football player, was in the emergency room experiencing difficulty breathing, headaches and coughing.

"If he wouldn't have gotten the first dose of the vaccination, his sickness would've been way worse than what it is now," his mother, Fatina Watkins, said.

Louisiana has one of the nation's lowest vaccination rates, and over just two weeks 1% of the state's entire population has caught the virus, CBS News' Mark Strassmann reported on "Face the Nation."

"We have more children sick with COVID-19 than at any other time during the pandemic," Governor John Bel Edwards said.

Texas and Florida now make up about one-third of COVID-19 cases in the U.S., and governors of both states oppose universal mask rules as schools open. The American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended that all children over the age of 2 wear masks when they go back to school.

Among adolescents and teens who are old enough to get vaccinated, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says about 51% of 16-17-year-olds and 40% of 12-15-year-olds have gotten at least one dose. About 7.7 million are fully vaccinated.

The CDC said that while children are generally at lower risk for serious illness from COVID-19 than adults, those with preexisting conditions may face more severe symptoms. And even some previously healthy kids are ending up hospitalized.

A study published in April that observed a cohort of more than 20,000 pediatric COVID-19 patients found that 2,430 — 11.7% — were hospitalized, and about 31% of those hospitalized experienced severe illness.

Several studies also show that some children may experience lingering symptoms, or "long COVID."

A study out of Gemelli University in Rome followed 129 children ages 18 or under who were diagnosed with COVID-19, and found that about a third of them had one or two lingering symptoms four months or more after infection, and a quarter had three or more symptoms, including insomnia, fatigue, muscle pain and persistent cold-like complaints, according to the study, published in Acta Paediatrica journal.

Evidence is that short term protections for those who have commodities is strong. The guys at Medcram put out hard evidence of this based on hospitalization rates for those with comorbidity and vaccinated vs. un-vaccinated. IMHO, you can make the argument that those at serious risk of death (obese, diabetic, elderly, immune compromised, etc.) the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risk.

Forcing those who are 99.7%+ likely to recover just fine from Covid is the issue. Especially since the evidence that these vaccines are 'leaky', possibly causing antibody dependent enhancement, are actually making the Covid epidemic worse by enhancing the creation of variants. Israel and Iceland, where the populations were near full vaccination.

Variants are real. The billions of replications per infection is going to create mutations, most of which are duds. However, you get one that makes the virus more infectious.

My brother down in Florida had his samples sent to a lab and confirmed it was Delta.

This is where evolution comes in: Virus variants tend to evolve to be more infectious but less deadly. A virus that kills its host is less likely to spread.

This would explain why infections are up with Delta but the increase in deaths isn't rising at nearly the same rate.

On another update from my Mom's nursing home: Two more residents are infected, but 13 of the previous infections are considered to be recovering and will be taken out of isolation soon. No deaths...
