When did that close?! I could have sworn it was still open I walked past it a few weeks ago. Or, maybe it was two months ago. I can't remember.

If that's next to Two Boots, then that's the Porta Pizza space.

It's not, it's well down the block. It's also not the spot where Hard Grove is moving in.

Not sure what's going in there, but it's a nice sized space! 3,000+ square feet. Hopefully it's something good, and not Rainbow expanding next door.

even though rents are rising, they are still less than mannyhanny.

does anyone know what is going to be built at the corner of 3rd and merseles - there used to be a commercial/uniform laundry but it is gone and the land has been cleared

Is the above possible? Although I'm afraid the property tax will kill my dream!!! It went up 80% in the 8 years that we've owned this place!!!

Also, are those rents at 8 Erie Street realistic?

Man, those rents are nuts. It's a beautiful building, but I can't imagine anyone paying $7k/mo for the priciest units -- if you have that kind of money wouldn't you be better off just buying a place in Manhattan?

where are you seeing the rents listed? I feel like I live in the last reasonably-priced rental in the neighborhood.

Wow, If I could rent my 2 br/2 bth for $4200 I would retire!

FYI

http://gothamw.com/projects-item/142-newark-avenue/

No more cars opening and closing gates next to Skinner's Loft.

Anyone know what's going into the John Mullins building? (west of empty lot on south side of Newark)

That's the Madox II site, a Fields Development project. They've had to do environmental cleanup but other than that I'm not sure what the hold-up may be.

I know from someone that rented at Warren & York that they were offering 1 free month of rent from the published prices, which decreases the effective rent by $150-$200 per month (at least for the first lease term).

Well, the rent prices are realistic if people are willing to pay them. I am continually surprised by the prices being commanded by some of the new development in DTJC. Warren at York is essentially fully leased, and that was an expensive building, with many units surpassing 4 and 5 thousand dollars. Heck, their cheapest 1BR/1BA (only 734 sf) was $2,300.

Wow - $3000 / month for a 1Bed/1Bath at the Telco Lofts? Does that include parking? Do they even have a pool? I think the highrises around the area are only renting around $2400/$2500 per month!!!

I assume the numbers are negotiable?

Yeah, they're high even for DT and are pretty lacking in the amenities department.
