No running water here on York and Jersey Ave @ Van Vorst Park. I guess the United Water guys are trying to isolate the problem and once they do they'll re-activate the areas outside the problem area via Fulops twitter. Hopefully it's sooner than later!

FYI - the baby wipes at Key Food are facing the meat around the corner from the frozen foods.

No, if he wanted to screw with JC he'd figure a way to stop paying 76% of the school costs here and put the burden back on JC taxpayers!

Low on Halladay St. in the Lafayette neighborhood, too. I was worried my pipes were frozen. This is preferable.

Nothing on Warren Street. My ground floor neighbor has a trickle. This stinks, but bound to happen sooner or later. Website does have update. Lots of stinky on the PATH this morning I guess...if it runs! Luckily I found some "personal hygiene" wipes leftover from superstore Sandy...I can do w/o water...but the heat...?!

Twitter and that other boards' shout box have some info:

@Stephen (Steve) Fulop: Normal morning we pump 2m gallons to jc. This AM we are far above that but the water isn't surfacing so we are working to isolate it

And
UW+MUA are closing valves 2 isolate the leak-Boonton is pumping 6m gallons of water+the water isn't surfacing-we r working 2 isolate leak

Nothing on the Jersey City web site and
when I called rapid response center...they're
not even open. Pathetic.
No 311 in JC? Mr. Mayor...where are you this morning?

Updated on their website at 7:20:

UNITED WATER INVESTIGATES LOW WATER PRESSURE IN DOWNTOWN JERSEY CITY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jersey City, NJ, Dec 18, 2013, 7:00 am

United Water emergency crews are onsite in Jersey City, responding to customer calls of low water presssure or no water in the downtown area. Emergency crews are working to pinpoint the area where the leak is located, formulating a repair plan. Crews will remain onsite until the problem is repaired, working with the Jersey City MUA and the City to resolve as quickly and safely as possible.

Customers in the area may have low or no water pressure. Additional updates will be posted as more detailed information becomes available

Same here at 7th street. Been on hold with United Water as well for
the last 9 mins. That's some emergency #...
Why don't they put an announcement on and
or something on the web site? Ugh.

Nothing at all on the United Water website. How easy would that be? Instead it's no info, no pressure and high call volume...

No water in Gulls Cove, but the heat, which relies on the boiler, just came back on, so maybe it's been fixed.

Varick between York & Montgomery - no water pressure.

On hold with United Water. I keep getting the "We are currently experiencing a heavy call volume...." message.

Thanks - I thought my pipes were partially frozen.

It is messages like these that are the best feature of JCList. Thanks again to previous posters.
