by Van Vorst park too ... hearing water main break unsurprisingly

Hi SSM! Glad you're thinking about moving to the neighborhood. My wife and I have rented on York between Jersey and Varick for 4 years (sounds like we're neighbors with @yorkster!). We love the neighborhood and haven't had any issue to speak of.

The area keeps getting better and better! We love the park (thanks, @parkman!), the new restaurants that keep popping up, the local artists and of course how easy it is to get into the city (contrary to the PATH haters on this forum).

I've never felt unsafe. My wife says there've only been a handful of times she felt at all uneasy. To @yorkster's point, there are lots of families, and people really do look out for each other. It's a really solid community.

Nowhere's perfect, so you should to be smart and alert if you're walking alone late at night. But at the end of the day, I don't think you can do much better than the Grove St to Van Vorst area.

Friendly Cleaners on Christopher Columbus Drive (just west of Grove St.) is great!

Please be advised - the wrong has been righted! A new footpath has been blazed through the treacherous snow of the Blizzard of 2010 in Van Vost Park, Jersey City, New Jersey, USA, Earth.

Those wishing to travel overland between the Van Vorst Park fountain and the west-central exit on Jersey Avenue may now proceed in safety, confidence and comfort via the new footpath I have just blazed by stomping in small increments over the aforementioned, previously neglected passage.

Further improvements are welcome. No thanks are necessary.

Did anyone else see blood running up the Grove St. PATH stairs (by Subway) down the sidewalk and across the street towards Hard Grove??? Saw it around 10pm. There were a few cops bustling around too...
