Anyone know anything about 131 Erie Street? It's located next to Basic by Hamilton Park, and used to apparently house Ginfi and Parkside Bistro. For a while there was a sign that read "Restaurant for Lease" but looks as if some recent construction has just picked up. Just curious..

Yes it is the new public works project...

With Construction Set to Begin in June, Jersey City Awards $3.6M in Contracts for New DPW/JCIA Building

Hopefully after the move the Bay Front project will actually start. (I know I am dreaming)

(the PowerPoint presentation is impressive)

The For Rent sign is off and sheetrock is stacked inside the store formerly known as Europa. Anyone know what's going there?

It may be the public works property on Linden Ave East.

It's only about 2 stories high.

What is the large building that appears to be nearing completion right off of Route 78 near Greenville? It's located about a quarter-mile before the Bayonne exit on 78 on what looks like Linden Avenue.

They are the same project that is being built by Toll Bros. Those images are the renderings of what will be the finished project. They are currently working on the first part part of the project, which will be the two 30 story towers with a 40,000 sq. foot base of retail. This will reside on the lot between Marin and Provost. Tommy was asking about the point of view of the first rendering, which is on the corner of Bay and Provost, looking east towards Warren St. It's all the same project.

Wow. As if the Grove st. PATH station wasn't already screwed... For those of us who've been here awhile, we can only shake our heads in disgust. We told everyone in power to use the post-9/11 crowds at Grove (when Exchange Place was closed) as a sign to start expansion start in light of things we knew even then were coming...smh.

In May, the owner of Two Aprons said the new place would open in about a month. It's now almost 6 months later, so who knows what happened.

Not sure what's happening but they painted most of the exterior this past week. Seems like it's still on but moving very slowly for whatever reason.

On a related note, are there any long term plans for some of the empty lots (currently parking lots) on the WEST side of Marin in that same area?

Yes, Tommy. That would be Marin facing South.

Are you referring to the the Morgan / Grove / Marin redevelopment plan?

Plenty of details here:

There is a developer who will make this building rentals, but major work needs to be done fixing SW corner crack and the clean up of the interior will be thorough. There are a few minor changes to PAD Redevelopment Plan to put artist workspaces for rent on first floor instead of making a percentage rental apartments work/live. There will be parking in the basement. And all the windows (approx. 1100) will be made taller, so one can actually look out the windows. As they are now, the windows sills are about +five feet from floor (warehouse standard). Very excited to see this project move forward, instead of seeing this building waste away.

It's tricky to figure out what angle that view is from. Assuming that's the Trump building in the background, I assume this view is looking east? But that doesn't seem right, because then what is that building on the left hand side of the picture? Also, that would place the open plaza directly on Marin Blvd, but when I looked at the site yesterday it looked like the foundation came pretty close tp the sidewalk on Marin.

Yes, that's correct. Assuming you're looking at the first of four images. The view is looking east, and the building on the very left would be the rail of the Warehouse Cafe. That view is from the corner of Bay and Provost. The open plaza is the current empty lot in front of the cobblestone street on Provost, in front of the Warehouse Cafe.

Any idea what's happening next to Sawadee or in the John Mullins building (next to the empty lot) on Newark?

It's on top of the building diagonal and across from the biergarten...the building closest to the light rail station. It's actually on the 6th floor above the parking garage

I believe that's a new LeFrak building, about 150 apartments.

anyone know what they're doing with the church building at corner of Montgomery and Brunswick? Noticed when I was walking back there to vote that they have replaced all the windows on that structure adjacent to the church. Looks like it may have been a school at one point.

A little bit of Googling shows that the owner of Union Republic was formerly the owner of that place MAE.

A row of brownstones connected to an 11 story rental building. No plans/renderings have been posted anywhere online yet. Hopefully it will have a pool, things are getting tight at the current pool
