Country Village flooded. Other than what has been mentioned,
Greenville and West Bergen Don't flood.

The 911 operator should ask, " What are the cross streets?"

Somewhere in an ancient housing code it does mention numbers on the backs of houses. Mine are on the back porch. It helps the police if they have to run through backyards.

I agree that half the street names in the city would have to be changed. Linden Ave, Linden Ave East, Linden Court etc.....

I never liked that streets named after historical people were changed. ie: Hudson Blvd to Kennedy Blvd Henderson Street
to Marin

Thank you 1111. Hope to see you at Project Greenville.

I look like my avatar, and walk on Ocean Av to the post office,
and to buy the newspaper. (not at night, or wearing Prada)
I've lived in this area my whole life without any problems to my personal safety.

If you understand you can be mugged, or shot anywhere, even
the Short Hills Mall, you will keep your eyes open.

Yes, it does seem to be the same bunch of thugs again and again in the same areas. But, the police are doing a better job these days.

How many people have ever gone up and down the side streets of some of these neighborhoods? Some houses -especially the Victorian mansions are beautiful. You may be surprised to see the mixture of people you didn't know lived in the neighborhood.

It is in West Bergen

What I knew of Virginia Ave Blvd- West Side a decade ago, there were lots of break ins.

When the school dismissed, it was chaos.

But, things may have changed

I eat at them often when I am on that side during the warmer months. Its great to eat outside the campus, I must say all the cities I have lived in there is no student life outside the campus near any of the universities in Jersey City which I find pretty pathetic.

I can't speak to how it is, now, but when I went there (while it was still Jersey City State - 20 years ago), both I and every one of my co-students was a commuter, so of course there was no off-campus life. If we hung out, it was in Manhattan.

NJCU has always been a commuter campus and most of the students were/are working their way through college.

Good Food Trucks are located by NJCU. They have been there for years. Most people at the University would rather eat there than the Caf.

This law about moving every two hours comes up every few years.

The trucks at the University were allowed to stay in the same place the last time this law came up.

Greenville's population was mixed, but mostly white till the late
1960's- early 1970's.

Yes, Hamilton Park was Needle Park. People going to the hospital would have someone drive them and get out of the car and run to the door. That was in the early 1970's.

Grove St was a little scary in the 60's too.

Please go on. What else?

I remember the candy store on Ocean and Claremont. It was down a few steps.
I remember the playground on Arlington and Claremont.
Where was the A&P?
Remember George's Bakery? Halloween we used to get a cake
with little prizes in it. You had to be very careful eating it.

in South Greenville. They have been there for a long time.
There are a lot of trophies in the windows.

It's the Police Activity League.

Hello Everybody,

Hope your new year?s going well & that you?re keeping warm this winter! I?m writing to let you know we have a small works exhibit in the plans for the weekend of March 7th, 8th and 9th, with a deadline, ideally, of March 1st (flexible within reason). I am sorry for the short notice but I feel like I turned around and January was over! But there is still a full month to create something special for the exhibit or simply adjust an existing piece to fit into our one foot by one foot (that?s 12? x 12?) guideline??The nice thing is that?s the only guideline, the size. The rest is up to you. No theme or subject limitations or leanings?.a photo, collage, painting, piece of writing, sculpture, found object creation, some combination of all of these things!

All I would advise is making the most of the small space and really try to display something very cool despite the limited dimensions : ) as always that which can be hung by magnets are very helpful, but I don?t mind making other arrangements. and there will be table space for things that are more of a 3 dimensional/non-hanging nature, but it?s limited so get in touch with me sooner rather than later?.
That?s it for now. Our friends DIYGFY will be playing live music at some point during the weekend and I?m gonna try to line up some others as well (maybe i?ll limit myself to two-person set ups like theirs in the spirit of good things coming in small packages!) Please feel free and encouraged to pass this open call around to those who you think might like to participate or come check it out?

Thank you & happy 12 x 12 creating!

Bike riding in LSP. I love riding behind the golf course, and
Port Liberte' Sometimes, the park has guided tours that usually meet at the interpretive center. Get on their mailing
list. When is the Train Terminal going to reopen?

Bayonne, has the 911 monument ALLLLL the way down by
the cruise ships. The paving blocks have been taken up for now.

A friend from Texas was here and we took photos of him standing around Exchange Pl with the NY skyline behind him.
There was a festival going on that day and it was nice.

Historic buildings that you can go inside such as the libraries, and City Hall plus a drive by of All the neighborhoods.

There is a map showing where the shootings occurred.

#3 and # 4 are not in Greenville. Greenville ends probably
in the backyards between Claremont and Myrtle Aves. Official map says Myrtle.

It is still horrible news.
