Not shocking. That was the worst McD's on earth, though to be fair it was partly due to it's patrons, but why would it be different now with even less experienced staff? That said, why would you go there just for their crappy coffee? We need a thread on how to make your own great cup of coffee in 3 minutes with an Aeropress.

My review of the reopened MickyD?s on Grand. (sorry it?s not a NYT?s review)

I really wanted this to be good, I was sick of going to DD. That place is too small for a big man and way too many snotty school kids cutting line. What are they teaching kids in JC public schools today? No manners what so ever. The guy begging at the front door has more manners..gee. (he must of went to a private school)

I will give a food joint 3 tries before I review it. (ah! NYT?s only gives one) The re-opened MickyD?s F-A-I-L-E-D all three.

It is a nightmare in the morning. Just to get a freaking cup of coffee the wait inside is 10 to 15 minutes and that is with maybe 3 or 4 people ordering. Forget about waiting on line in the 24 hour drive thru you will waste a half of tank of gas idling. I can just imagine waiting on that line at 2 am with a car load of friends who have the munchies. (not the driver of course)

- I knew I was in trouble when I walked in and saw people standing all over like trees in a forest holding their receipts?waiting.
- I also knew something was up seeing people standing at the counter with half eaten Egg McMuffins ? complaining.
- There must have been at least 10 employees behind the counter walking around and bs?ing. (I really didn?t care that Yolanda missed Tray?s party)
- I guess they are all new and have not conquered the computer ordering system yet. (I thought they teach computers at McDonalds University) I saw my large cup of coffee up on the screen above the coffee station. But I guess the 10 employees never did. I finally yelled out ?can I have my coffee please?. I got the ?Oh Yo I forgot? .

If I owned that franchise I would hurry up and send in some spies or do an undercover owner. You are losing customers back to the small DD.

I will try it again in 6 month?s. But maybe it is a good thing as I am on my annual new year?s diet and those Egg McMuffin?s are tempting. I just have to put up with those dam snotty kids again.

PS ? yes Bike_Lane they do have a McCafe.

It looks more fancy on the outside then the inside. Definitely not one of the more modernized McDonalds inside - pretty much the same.

Weird, I thought the only improvement occurred when it burned down.

Looks like they are finally rebuilding the MickeyD?s in Colony Square. Looks like it will be one of those modern ones.

Sign says visit them on facebook

ColonySquareMickeyDs

At least now the DD won?t have lines out of the door in the morning.

I heard they were going to tear it down and put in a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's -- BTW there is another of these @ Newark Ave and Grove.

I think it was the monopoly guy who set the place up in flames.

A McDonald's in Jersey City went up in flames early this morning, causing heavy damage but leaving nobody injured, fire officials say.

The Jersey City Fire Department arrived at the scene at 5:03 a.m., and left at about 6:23 a.m., according to Fire Director Armando Roman.

The fire caused "heavy damage" to the establishment's roof, Roman said.

Mitch McGuire, who owns the Grand Street McDonald's, said he is working with the fire department to determine the cause of the fire.

"The safety and security of our customers and employees is our top priority. Thankfully, no one was injured," McGuire said.

Roman said all the restaurant's employees were evacuated after the fire began.

"We notified PSE&G, and had them shut off all gas and electricity ... we also notified the Jersey City Department of Health, as we do anytime a fire involving an eatery occurs," Roman said, adding than an investigation is underway.
