Reducing the size of government one indictment at a time....

At the rate we are going, the majority of our appointed and elected officials will be taking a plea bargain at some point.

ZZZZzzzzz. Let us know when the FBI tackles the real elephant in the room, the JCPA. Second only to the port authority in corruption. For having so many employees why do you always get the following message: we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes, please call back at a later time....and waste more of your time .

Ok I added the last part but seriously, what a freaking joke. And when you finnally get LaFonda on the phone to answer a question about the mysterious court summons that showed up in your mail and told you to call, she usually gives you attitude and hangs up the phone.

lol There probably isn't enough people at the FBI to even begin to untangle the mess at HCIA much less the rest of them.

Did you know that the director of the HCIA sits on the board of the JCIA & that Bill Guaghan's ex- son in law is a supervisor there?

The quote, "It's a mystery"? BS. How else do these employees pay for their hot tubs, deck extensions, summer homes, recreational vehicles....fat white envelopes.

Every four years the FBI shakes things up and then it starts all over again. You can't get someone to do their job here without a pay off. They make things slow, complicated, contradict their policies, they won't go away until you pay.

Computers seized in raid at Hudson County agency, official says

February 15, 2012, 7:48 PM
By Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal

The Hudson County Improvement Authority office at 574 Summit Ave. in Jersey City which was reportedly raided by law enforcement .

Law enforcement officials paid a visit to the Hudson County Improvement Authority in Jersey City today and seized computers but officials had little information on what the probe is about.

"We are aware they were at the office (yesterday) and we are fully cooperating," said Christina Filip, a spokeswoman for the HCIA.

This afternoon several white vans were seen at the HCIA office located on Summit Avenue near Five Corners. But at 5 p.m. Filip said she did know what level of law enforcement they were connected to or why they were there.

Hudson County Executive Thomas A. DeGise said last night that he too knew little about the visit but said it seemed to be related to an engineering vendor used by the county.

He said computers were seized.

"It is a mystery, a little, to us too," said DeGise, who noted that computers were seized.

Spokespersons for law enforcement at the city, county and state levels said they were not aware of activity at the HCIA office.

A spokesperson for the US Attorney's Office in Newark said the agency does not confirm or deny the existence of investigations. DeGise as well as a source in Hudson County law enforcement said they understood the FBI was involved.

The HCIA is an autonomous agency that provides a range of services to county residents and businesses related to solid waste management, recycling, affordable housing and transportation, according to the HCIA website.

It has awarded more than 200 mini-grants to various not-for-profit organizations in Hudson, and it is used by county cities to obtain better loan rates.

The HCIA works to educate residents and businesses on the benefits of recycling and has offered presentations at the majority of public, private and parochial schools in the county, the site says.
