""We want people to spend money in Jersey City, not Manhattan," said Councilman Steven Fulop"

And by spend money he obviously means we are going to ticket like crazy and make it impossible for you hard working peope to make court cases and prove their innocense. So just pay the city.

5 years ago what you are saying may have been true about being able to afford JC on a middle class salary, but unfortunately the more manhattan transfers JC gets the more the owners of buildings jack up there pricing. A nice 1Br rental 5 yrs ago would run you between 900-1300 downtown in a row house. Now you cant find one for under $1750. Still cheaper than manhattan but almost on par with Hoboken at this point.

Dixon Mills is a nice place to live.

As far as bars, depends on what your vibe is. If your into flannels and beards: Good beer = Barcade, overpriced drinks = LITM

Lucky 7 is a good all around place and all the restaurants the above poster mentioned are nice.

Just be careful, the Snookie monster will be living next door to Marco and Pepe for the next 2 months.

ZZZZzzzzz. Let us know when the FBI tackles the real elephant in the room, the JCPA. Second only to the port authority in corruption. For having so many employees why do you always get the following message: we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes, please call back at a later time....and waste more of your time .

Ok I added the last part but seriously, what a freaking joke. And when you finnally get LaFonda on the phone to answer a question about the mysterious court summons that showed up in your mail and told you to call, she usually gives you attitude and hangs up the phone.

Just looking to see if anyone has went to the new Beer Garden in Hoboken.

I have out of towners coming in soon. Is it worth going to? How are the prices?

I heard they use real glass mugs instead of the plastic mugs Zepplin Hall has been using for the last two years

How is the food?

Danke!

Satis is a good restaurant and all, but do not underestimate the appeal of a BYOB. IF it wasn't for the massive amount of wine our group brought in the other day, someone would have noticed that the burnt octopus with funky sauce, and everything else there should they get a liquor license, is a bit overpriced.
