yes it was all paid the same day.

again - I was just trying to be a good neighbor by warning others that you can be booted for such a low amount owed.

Ludo..... There are some areas where its a first time boot zone. Those are by the colleges (NJCU and ST Peters) and by the light rail stops. By the colleges they have parking lots available but the students are too lazy to use them and take up all the parking on the street. The light rail users take up the parking for the residents , hop the train and are gone all day.

There are also the Permit Parking Only areas where its a first time boot without the proper permit. Those permits are ,I think, $125.00 per month . Thats mostly by CC Dr from Marin blvd east to Hudson st and in that general area.

The ordinance for the unpaid tickets is actually the FTA booting. The vehicle has to have a minimum of 3 FTAs (Failure to Appear notices) then the boot. The vehicles are then Scoff Law offenders.

I hope this was helpful.

Why is parking in resident only zones a bootable offense while parking in other zones without a permit is only a ticketable offense?

Also, didn't the council pass an ordinance last year that the vehicle had to have unpaid parking tickets in order to be booted?

You can be booted for having 3 OR more outstanding parking tickets. You can also be booted for not having a VALID parking permit in one of the JCPA parking lots or one of the designated areas that are reserved for resident only parking which is mainly around St. Peters college, JCSC and paulus hook section or the area around CC DR from Marin to the waterfront

it was for outstanding tickets - I wasn't parked illegally when this happened and was not in a residential area. The JCPA told me the threshold is $110

I dont think you got booted for unpaid tickets. It must be just where you were parked. If you were on one of the down town streets that require the $125 permit (near five guys) they will boot you. Heres what makes me think this

i didn't post this to complain about getting a boot - obviously i deserved it... I was only posting as a warning to other JClisters that the threshold for a boot is only $110.... which in my opinion seemed very low compared to other cities I've lived in. I also didn't get anything in the mail about be boot worthy.

Just trying to help!

I still believe they should chase the person not the car - if they can track down the driver of a rental, then they can track down the driver of a private car. If rental co. can assign blame, then the owner of the private car should be allowed to also. JCPA can place a 'red flag' on the nominated driver's (via the DMV) license.

LOL. All you see on CC between greene and marin are those yellow boots. I feel for those drivers. I once got towed in Hoboken and it was a pain to walk 10 blocks to pay a ticket then walk another 15 blocks to the towing garage. Of course, it rained throughout by lovely walk.

They booted you because you did not pay the tickets when they were due. It does not matter how heavy a hitter you are, you had at least 3 tickets, and its fairly obvious that you were not going to pay and were testing the system. Well, this time the system passed!
