Yes it is Kennedy (Hudson County) Boulevard but it is in Bayonne in front of Marist HS going towards JC. Looks like the person took the TP Extension and got off in Bayonne. Those grass dividers with lights used to be in many places along the Blvd.

.

100% going north away from Bayonne. But they did start in Bayonne, getting off the Turnpike as you said. But Gem Electronics was right after the Boulevard Pool, and you can see the buses turning into the lot. As they travel further, you can see the library near Stevens Ave and Greenville Hospital.

Wonder how the property taxes will end up with the reval. They were at $19,833 combined before, and the new number is $34,083. Now that the buildings are gone, will they say the property is worth more or less?

Try General Lumber 200 Clinton Street, Hoboken. They sell Marvin, their service and price are better than Palisade

Surely there was some sort of payment due based on the revenue of these projects, and not just a $1./year lease.

It's 7 pm, still daylight. Your bike was stolen from in front of the ferry terminal, you turn around to walk home? Very believable reaction.
Where was security?
Why didn't you call the police to report the theft immediately?
Oh yeah, you were drunk.
You turn around and see the thief, you pick out your bike at 60 yards while drunk, and then call the police?
You follow in stealth mode and happen to see the thief steal another bike?
The police release the "stolen bike" to a person who is drunk, claiming its his bike, with no proof other than the statement of a drunk.
Any thief would ride like the wind to avoid being caught. This whole account stinks. But it is a nice story.

Must be a Fulop supporter!

Actually, that has nothing to do with it. When I hear him at council meetings, I struggle to understand what he is saying. Your video is a little better, but you have to pay very close attention to understand him. I'd rather read a transcript, or subtitles than try to follow and perhaps misunderstand. Surely you can understand that. Perhaps not. Or maybe you are just a Fulop hater.

Aside from being another form of taxation, it's like a cancer. Once you have it, it's very difficult to get rid of. Journal Square and Downtown are perfect examples. Mainly self serving, doling out fat bonuses and top heavy with overhead. Need more money? Just raise the assessment, or expand the borders. Once the property owner realizes what has happened, it's too late.

Wait ... as I recall, the bollards by Torico's are on both sides of First approaching Erie, and on both sides of Erie approaching First. That's often how it's done.

You improve visibility across the whole intersection for everyone approaching it?the ones on the southwest corner do that?AND you ALSO improve drivers'/cyclists' view of pedestrians crossing as they turn OFF one street onto the other.

There's nothing botched about it.

Actually the bollards on on 3 of the 4 corners, there is nothing in front of the Burger place,(on First) which is what I was referring to earlier.

Also, I am confused by the placement of the delineated area along First Street... shouldn't the banned area be the one along both sides of the southwest corner!?!? If you are truly trying to improve visibility for cars and pedestrians, you want to make it so that traffic heading North and East can see each other easily.

Please tell me this was not another botched "safety" project, as was the case with the STOP signs two years ago and the speed humps a year or so ago. Surely someone looked at this and thought it through before those barriers were put in place.

I think it was intentional. The ones that are in place are quite effective. Visibility when crossing that intersection is much improved. I believe they left that corner out to allow for trucks to unload, since they only stop for short periods, and there is nowhere else for them to go.

Don?t know the name of the building but walking up the concourse?.

On the right corner Barrica(?) candies, a fruit store, a frankfurter/drinks joint, (Red?s) Tube Bar, a pizza parlor.

On the left corner was Orange Julius, along with a diamond mart, a hosiery shop , Universal Foods (love those rotisserie chickens) and Woolworths. Woolworths also had an entrance on the Blvd. There was a red brick building next it to on the Blvd. that housed Robinsons restaurant.

I think the candy store was Barricinni, Robinson"s was on the corner of Pavonia and the Blvd, where the transportation center currently stands.

The school board made the right call. These things have to be planned well in advance, you can't close all the schools on a few days notice. Let them plan for this closure next year, for now they can do whatever they did in prior years.

My condo assoc was recently approached by a developer to buy our building. He's constructing an apartment building adjacent to ours and if he had our property, he could make a much larger complex. None of us are sure what to expect.

If he owns enough frontage on Marin Blvd, he is zoned for up to 40 floors, but he might have to buy O'hara's too, so your deal might be subject to them getting both properties. It might just be a payday for your group.

There's more to this than the link indicates. There's a link to the full interview where he says they came 3 times in 100 days. That means he's been on their Radar since October. Someone filed a complaint. They came back in January with health inspector, fire inspector, zoning inspector and building dept. I'm no fan of what happened, but it seems to me that he either ignored or didn't take the prior inspections seriously. The task force doesn't just show up like that on the first visit. But still the first visit will result in violations, unless they find something really bad, like rat infestation, the second visit is to see if whatever was cited in the first inspection was taken care of, and the third comes from inaction or unsatisfactory corrective action. The summons and revocation legal or not wouldn't happen on the first or even second visit.

I am hopeful that with Razzoli gone from the buildings dept., that they cleaned up their act.

Call the non emergency police number 201 547 5477 They will send a car, the officer will run the plates, if they are local they will go to their house and request that they move, if they can't be reached they will call for a tow. The police handle these issues when the parking authority is closed.

Years ago, you could cross the boulevard underground and come up behind the Loews, I bet the network is still there and can be reactivated for less money than building a bridge. The area used to be populated with food and retail stores. Even Liss, (now Rite Aid), and JM Fields (now CH Martin) had an entrance from that lower level. Whenever it rained or snowed is was a sheltered way of crossing, without waiting for the light to change.

Bay Street was changed to the original configuration this morning. Is this permanent, or do they change the direction twice a day? It was really no big deal yesterday, but this morning the "DO NOT ENTER" signs were placed on the Newark Ave side, but the arrows painted on the street indicate otherwise. Seems very confusing.
