Hey, I got it, let's pass an ordinance that everyone has to wear a crash helmet on Saint Patrick's Day. Wouldn't want anyone to have too much fun.

The issue with Hoboken is that it's a small town and St. Patrick's day turns into a freaking zoo. People are peeing all over the place, on the sidewalks, building, people's stoops. Not to mention fighting and passed out idiots on the sidewalks. I've seen drunk idiots throwing glass bottles on the sidewalks. The worst thing is that a lot of these idiots don't even live there so of course they have no respect for other people's property.

I have joined in on the festivities in Hoboken when I was younger and I managed to drink and not act like a complete moron idiot when doing so. I've heard of house parties where people throw out their cans and bottles out the window. So yes, Hoboken should have a zero tolerence policy for idiots like this.

Okay, point taken. Didn't know it was that out of control.

I was stuck working almost 15 hours in this drunken mess. At least now I know why there were police dogs by 10th & Park.

Truly amazing. I believe Hoboken collected over $500,000 in fines last year.

How many public toilets do Hoboken make available on their Saint Patrick's Day parade? Do they lay on porta-potties?

Kudos on using 100% cotton for your tee shirts. The parade kicks off at 12:30 pm from Lincoln Park to JSQ. Look for the BIKE JC group marching up Kennedy Blvd. with their bicycles. http://www.saintpatricksdayparade.com/jerseycity/jerseycity.htm

Thanks for reminding me! I wonder how much different it will be this year with the new 'zero tolerance"....last year I forgot that it was Fake St. Patrick's Day and I ran down to Hoboken to do a couple of errands. Ew. I was appalled by so many things I saw, but most of all by a poor twenty something year old girl all by herself, dressed all in green and passed out in a fetal position next to a small pool of vomit against a wall in the walkway from the PATH to the train station.
And it was only about two in the afternoon.
Erin go bragh.

If you're brave enough to venture near Hoboken tomorrow, remember their annual St. Patty's Day Parade and respective after parties will be held in to the weeeee hours of the night. Fines of up to $2000 for open containers, loud house parties, public intoxication and more will be handed out.
