Stumped. I asked a few old timers and nothing.

I will guess Mayor Hague's stepdaughter.

QUESTION: This grim structure once stood on Academy Street just a few blocks from Number 11 School (MLK Junior School).

Wait the Lane answer is not (JC)correct, I think we would want Lane's Jersey City name. The name he used when he was kicking around JC...before he made it big.

For a bonus how about the story of why he needed to change his name.

His name is Joe Lane. He went to Prep with my brother-in-law. MY older sisters remember him being in their production of Mame. I thought he got the idea to change his name to Nathan Lane because he had the starring role as Nathan in Guys and Dolls. Don't know why he had to change it.

I think this might be a fun thread to share knowledge and history of Jersey City.

The poster who answers the previous question correctly can post the next Jersey City trivia question for posters or can pass. A pass means any poster can then post the next question.

First Jersey City trivia question: Frank Hague was mayor during which years?
