Does anyone know the hours for voting on Tues - the NJ Elections web site indicates 6 am - 8 pm for other upcoming elections (McNair high school is my polling place). I'm assuming it's the same for Tues?

Remember this Tuesday the winner needs 50% + 1 which quite simply means that for everyone who comes out to vote and who votes for someone other than Healy causes that much more of a probable runoff election.If it is a large turnout I believe the incumbent will have a very difficult time. Get out and vote your choice of candidate.

if the candidates put in as much effort into running this city as they do campaigning, we'd all be sitting pretty. This week alone all three councilman running for the heights seat have knocked on my door, and manzo and healy's guys have rang my door more than once this week.
I also met Levin at the 9th street congress elevator. First mayoral candidate i saw just pressing the flesh w/ out the fanfare of an event, although i'm sure some of the others were other places. Something about Levin alone handing out his own flyers before AND after work at the elevator made me smile. ALso the fact that after work he said to me, "oh already got you going in". 9 hours later and he remembered, stuff like that leaves an impression. I like what he stands for, i think he's a good guy, i just hope he sticks around for the long haul, b/c i really don't think he can beat the machine that is run by healy and manzo. Although i would be pleasantly surprised if he did. Oh, and i got the sample ballot the other day with all the teams' mottos if you will.... "change we can see", "change we can believe in", "change we can afford" blah, blah, blah. change, change, change, shmange.

I still think Levin stands a chance of a run-off with Healy, but Tuesday will tell all.

It will be awesome when the election is over and all these anti-Healy trolls just go away. I am not voting for him, but if he wins the butthurt around here will be monumental.

IMHO, the only person who really stands a chance against the Healy Machine is Manzo. As much as I like what Levin stands for, it's going to take at least another 4 years for people to take notice (throughout the city). The most likely outcome, will be a run-off between Manzo and Healy. Unfortunately, money is what decides elections and Healy has spent millions in an attempt to make people forget the last 4 years..........

Given all that is at stake over the next four years, including: A looming real estate revaluation Bloated municipal budget during a recession The need to address the school situation and greater local funding responsibility for the schools it shocks me that people can't find ten minutes out of the fifteen hours the polls are open to get out and vote. Clearly there won't be long lines if historical turnout is any indicator. Much, much more is at stake next Tuesday (with far greater personal consequences) than voting for the President or even your Senator or Congressman. Them will continue to be Them as long as We continue to be We. So for God's sake: GET PEOPLE OUT TO VOTE!!

Honestly, I don't know. But I'd like to see Dan Levin put in a good fight. It sounds lame, but I think JC could do with a little political optimism- so I'm voting on priciple...show them we're ready for something different.

The results you show were for the special election that was to fill a 6 month term.. That election was held on Nov 12th 2004 and was during a Presidential, Congressional and Senate election as well.
This is the results from the May 2005 primary: (very weak voter turnout) I think the totals were about 25,000 ish The numbers below are 95% of the precincts reporting Jerramiah Healy----- 18,329---- 75.08% Melissa Holloway---- 4,638----- 19.00% Alfred Marc Pine----- 1,420----- 5.82% Personal Choice----- 27------- 0.11%
