Someone else mentioned the Casa Dante area, but when I was out Tuesday afternoon they had ripped up Newark ave west of Little India (down by all the warehouses).... if they've gotten from there to Casa Dante in 2 days, it can't be more than a few more years until they make it downtown! <- holding breath Mark.

My boyfriend drives down that strip of Newark Avenue everyday to get to and from work and yesterday he picked me up at the PATH and I have never seen him happier! He said that that road in particular was really doing a number on his car before it was paved!

They are paving Cottage Street in Journal Square today. I noticed that Newark Avenue at Casa Dante has been dugged up. Maybe they will pave that part of Newark Avenue tomorrow.

They finally paved Grand St. too. You don't get that offroading feel anymore which is nice.

I only wish this was TRUE -- that Newark Ave was in the midst of getting repaved -- from Grove to at least Brunswick or better yet 5th Street (the Fire Station) really needs it.

But alas, I have NO idea what the original poster is talking about - it is still like the lunar surface out there.

Ha, that is funny... My husband and I always joke that those pot holes are what makes Jersey City. When we drive from Hoboken to JC, we know we crossed the border once we hit a pot hole.

Could it be that local elections aren't all that far away, so to generate some votes, Healy is getting some stuff done !

The things is people have short memories and think Healy is wonderful and vote for him, then works all come to a stop and its back to the same useless / corrupt cityhall as we all know.

It wouldn't surprise me if the contractor is a relative or financial supporter and the contact is over priced !

Hello all JC residents! On my daily commute I travel up and down the pot hole filled pavement of what is Newark Ave. to get to Rt. 280. Today, to my wonderful surprise, part of Newark Ave. has been paved! I am so overjoyed by this! I hope this paving continues all the way up to Grove St. because the shocks on my car will thank the City!

Thank you Jersey City! This is super awesome!
