Irena from Antheia also has an urban landscaping business (separate from the work she does with Antheia). Her website is www.iglgarden.net -- it says she specializes in residential works, small garden and urban spaces.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a cheap landscaper? I already checked out some of the recommendations and they seem a bit pricey. Just need for small facelift and basic maintenance. Nothing fancy.

Thanks!

You get what you pay for.

And if you contract them now, they might get around to it sometime in 2013.

Their work is beautiful, but it's very pricey, and they will take forever to get to your job. If you can wait, and pay, definitely check them out.

I need to rebuild a retaining wall in my backyard and pitch the yard away from the house, as well as some other landscaping tasks.
I have been given a run around by my contractor for the past 3 months, so i finally fired him. I need someone good and reliable, if you know such contractor, please pass me his digits.

I have all the permits and am looking to start this asap.

Thank you.

I'm almost positive the 14th Street Garden Center does this. The owner's name is Mike and he's pretty cool. They built my patio two years ago. They were the best price when I was comparing and did a great job.

Hi -

Can anyone recommend a gardener for a brownstone back yard with flower beds, some grass, perennials etc? I am looking to get the garden ready for the winter and then have this person care for it on a regular basis starting next spring.

I see that some have recommended landscapers, but I am not in the need for landscaping, just maintenance gardening.

Thank you!

Gattuso's Landscaping
He is listed.

Does good work, some jobs reasonable others higher, but worth a shot for the work they do.

We got our yard done last year. It was not a very large space roughly 30x10 feet.

The folks like Huffnagel (may have mispelled it) did not want to even come near it unless the minimum is $5000.

We were at the 14th St Farmers Mkt (by the turnpike - 1&9 split) and met John there. He was very accomodating with our under $2000 budget and got the job done within 2 days.

He also spent a good deal of time showing us various options and ideas that could save us money.

Happy to provide more details if needed.

Valerie Hufnagel - 201-321-5191

Tops in my book, especially if the project is a row house.

Not cheap, be prepared.
