Indeed. I understand the sisters of both owners will be there tonight while Pete is back at HPP holding down the fort.

I agree! Pete and Jason are awesome! they actually take time to get to know the neighbors, remember names and always say hello when you visit or are just walking by.

I still love their breakfast!

Hey Mary Ann!

Pete is great, he's also a chef there.

Unfortunately they've been a little short staffed the past few weeks but both he and Jason take it upon themselves to deliver the food if they have to.

I would recommend everything we've had which includes:
Chef Salad
Chicken Caesar Salad
Baked Ziti
Penne a la vodka
Linguini Alfredo
Linguini and Clam White
Shrimp, Mussels or Clams Fra Diavlo

I even had them cater my housewarming a few months back and they served Chicken Parm, Baked Ziti, Chicken Marsala and Penne Vodka and all my guests loved it.

I don't know why I've waited this long to praise them but truly, they do a great job. Although I don't like to knock anyone, they're not rude or short with you like some of the other big names around here.

Agreed 100%
Jason & Peter are so gracious and friendly. I got a delivery last night and Peter called me cause he was driving all over JC looking for broccoli rabe for our pizza and was running a bit late. Good people. I do need to branch out and try the regular dishes. Always a bit scared, being 1/2 sicilian my moms food was serious & I don't wanna be disappointed but I will go for dinner soon. What dishes do you recommend Jimmy?

I'm not a huge pizza fan but I love Italian food. Quite honestly, I wish they were known for much more than their pizza.

When I help a client move into the area, I always recommend they try HPP and so far so good. If any of you try it for the first time, tell them Jimmy sent you ;) Seriously.

Hmmm, how about scrambled eggs, and breakfast sausage pizza, with salsa replacing the standard tomato sauce. That could be awesome. I'll try it our next homemade pizza night.

Are you expecting or have a kid's taste in food, perhaps that's the greenhorn's special of the day.

I dont usually post on anything non dog related but I wanted to give positive feed back on this restaurant.

I dont know jc pizza outside of the downtown area but for the places I have tried Stellas, Helens, Cafe Rustica and now this place Hamilton Park Pizza at 357 7th street.

Hamilton Park Pizza is really great stuff.
Relatively thin crusted, great flavor & varieties.
The owners are really sweet and considerate.
Since leaving NY I didn't think I would find quality pizza but Hamilton Park Pizza is very NY.

I can't stands being negative but I wished for the best for the new cafe rustica on jersey. After a few tries I find it flavorless and dry. Kinda like cardboard really.

Sounds good. I look forward to trying it. Hopefully the pizza bar will start to be raised. Quote:

Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the pizza is much better. Also the fact that they are actually open on weekend evenings is great too.

They said they are getting new menues so I am interested to see what other options they will be adding. I haven't tried anything other than the pizza but I am looking forward to trying out some of the other stuff in the near future.

Best of luck to them. I urge everyone in the area to give this place another shot.

Hi All,

I live in the neighborhood. Yes, the reason for the rare hours before was because it's new owners!

The 2 guys are fantastic, and very nice! (In fact, one evening late night, they witnessed be stuggling with heavy packages and came out of the store into the freezing cold to help me unload my car.)

They're now open MUCH later during the week days and open both Saturday and Sunday.

They are changing the menu.....going to feature many fresh chicken dishes have fish specials. I can't wait! This area is in dire need of something healthy, quick and convenient...other than bar food and the typical Chinese and Pizza.

Good Luck Guys, and Welcome to the Neighborhood! :)

Had breakfast there the other morning and it was good. The new owners are very socialable too. Apparently they are planning to change it up a bit inside and have an updated menu. Looking forward to it since I'm right around the corner.

Anyone hear about a change in ownership?

Went in a couple of times and noticed a difference in the food and a new guy behind the counter. Other guys who work there are still there but subtle differences (change in family photos displayed, talk of a new menu) are kind of saying that the place has changed hands.

Still open. May have been some instability in the schedule for a while but I didn't notice and I eat there fairly regularly.
Maybe they went on vacation?

And yeah, there is a sign saying they would be open for Breakfast in the mornings again soon and on Sundays at 10am.

They're open - just not very much. Saw a sign last night that they would be serving breakfast soon. Strange. They've always been closed on Sundays.

Maybe it's being turned into a condo like the bar across the street. I wrote that place off after they gave me a minuscule slice, and attitude when I complained. Looks like I wasn't alone.
