Word on the street is that the kids and thugs refer to that area as "up the hill". Soon it will be called, "Economic opportunity for thugsland".

Images of alleged deli robbers released

Jersey Journal
Michaelangelo Conte
Tuesday December 11

Jersey City Police surveillance video of two suspects wanted in the robbery of a Summit Avenue deli.

Jersey City police have released security video images of two men they say robbed a deli and stabbed one of the store employees.

Cops said the two walked into the deli, at Summit Avenue and Orchard Street, at about 2 p.m. on Nov. 29, stabbing one employee and holding up the place at gunpoint.

Police broadcast a description of the men and scoured the area with no luck, reports said, adding that they got away with about $370, reports said.

The man who was stabbed with a 4-to 6-inch fishing knife was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center, reports said.

Anyone with information on the identity of the robbers is asked to call the police tipline at (201) 547-JAIL.
