FYI - was at Park & Sixth today for lunch and overheard that while they are open, the Gastropub has a reservation-based night going and is sold out.

Surprised that no one has posted anything about New Years yet. Does anyone know what is going on? Saw that Iron Monkey has something and Zepplien Hall does as well - any other info? Any restaurants doing anything special?

(nice list of things to do on NYE in today?s JJ)

Ring in 2014 at venues throughout Hudson County

By Summer Dawn Hortillosa / For The Jersey Journal
on December 20, 2013 at 3:00 AM, updated December 20, 2013 at 3:04 AM

New Year?s Eve is coming up fast! If you?re looking for a place to ring in the new year, plenty of places in Hudson County are hosting year-end parties where you can watch the ball drop.

Full JJ piece?

PS ? the print edition has some great pictures of a few of the joints. I forgot how beautiful the Elysian Caf? was and the Orale Mexican Kitchen exterior is excellent.

I saw NYE offerings on Facebook this week from

Park & Sixth Gastropub
Lighthorse Tavern
Liberty House Restaurant

Most are doing pre-fixe dinner with some sort of after party option

Anything good going on, specifically in downtown? Haven't seen much advertised and we're two weeks out.

Lighthorse is usually open with a party.

I'll just go down to Morris Canal Park on Washington and look at the fireworks in the harbor.

GP's Hamilton Park will be celebrating New Year's Eve with a prix fixe menu. They will also be open at 11am on January 1 with a big brunch party and complimentary drinks.

Port-O Lounge will be hosting a dance party on New Year's Eve.

LITM always has a big bash, as well.

As we get closer to Christmas, you'll start to see restaurants post their schedules for when they are open. And if they are open on New Year's, they'll often post their offering/how they'll handle (seating times, menu approach, etc.) Usually there's plenty of time to book.

Madame Claude has always been our favorite in the past.
