The real rationale for restaurants being closed on Mondays is that "theoretically" they get fresh deliveries daily to supply the next day. Most suppliers are closed on Sundays, so therefore, there would be nothing fresh for Mondays service. Ever heard the saying, "Don't eat sushi on Mondays"? That's where that comes from. You'd be eating Saturdays delivery... Do you care? who knows...

Speaking of which, why are so many places in this area closed on Monday? I have no idea
oh yeah, that was it. Don't know why I didn't put 2+2 together on that. Which reminds me, why the hell is Thirty Acres closed on Sunday instead of Monday?

I can't speak for Kraverie itself, but I do know that some restaurants choose to remain closed on Mondays for two reasons:
- to re-stock (hard, or impossible, to get delivery of all the necessary ingredients and/or supplies on Sundays)
- to allow owners/management/staff to rest after the weekend crush

It's also one of the least popular days to eat out (less money to be made). People are often bringing in leftovers from the weekend, or regretting all the beer/heavy food from a party and eat a bit healthier (home or some salad bar place).

This is common, most people just don't seem to eat out or get hair cuts, on Mon... and even folks in the restaurant biz deserve at least a day off.. which is most likely Monday and not Saturday.

Ordered delivery today and spoke to the delivery guy about this. He said they have recently taken it off of the market and that they were looking for a larger place to move in to.

If anyone has not tried them yet, the food is great. I've only eat from them for the past three weeks but I've ordered 3 times using seamless.

I recommend the kimchi cheese fries, cheesesteak sandwich, tacos and the wings. I think everything would be a bit crisper if you ordered it in the restaurant, but it still takes great. Delivery usually takes about 20~25 minutes from when I place the order.

What a loss this would be. Hope there's a way they can still make it work if they aren't just moving to another location.

Is the actual commercial real estate for sale along with the business or just the business?

I assume it's only the business but it's not too clear.

That's disappointing. Since the owners were also the chefs there will definitely be some change as they transition to a new chef.

Hope this place stays in business. Everything's pretty good, especially the Korean stuff.

Oh god, please don't close :(

Every time I've gone in during the evening, they've been packed, they can't be doing poorly... Hopefully the building itself is just being sold or maybe they're moving to a larger location or something.

Couple possibilities...

The restaurant is the combination of two prior businesses, the Crepe Truck and the Krave Truck. Maybe personalities didn't mesh?

Or, what started out as a small food truck business has spawned in to a very successful restaurant -- time to cash in?

Selling the restaurant could also bring in more cash from a wealthy owner who wants to continue the business.

A For Sale sign isn't necessarily the end of the road.

This is disappointing. I had only been there once, but was very pleased. I noticed a few days ago that it wasn't open. I think it's really hard to do well in JC, especially if you are off the main drag, even just a little.

Just walked by Weichert on Grove and saw a listing for Kraverie for sale. What gives? They just opened and seems to be fairly busy anytime I've been there. Very disappointing.
