Good for him and his wife - they work hard and deserve the fruits of their labor. Given that the family has a stalker, however, I wonder why RJC would choose to disclose the location of his second home. Regardless of the writer's motivations, it seems pretty short sighted. The man deserves his privacy and safety.

Makes his position on affordable housing really strong and creditable.

Not to split hairs, but how is 3.5 hours too long for a weekend getaway? Just a few months ago I hit RI for a 3-day weekend, and going to Boston (at 4 hours) is not uncommon either. I think it's totally reasonable.

Fair nuff, personal taste. I guess you can easily spend 3.5 getting to the Hamptons, but I would not choose to for a 2 day weekend. And 95 SUCKS!!!!! The Merritt ain't much better. When we visit the BIL in Boston we usually head up by 684 to 84 to 90.

This is shocking. I can't believe the seller waited an entire year to lower the price a little bit.

Is there a reason the Mayor can't make a real estate investment? At 3.5 hrs drive it's a bit far for a weekend getaway. Looks like a lot of work to me with those shingles, but waterfront property is great as long as you're above global warming flood level, as this appears. Fulop is shrewd buying in the Heights and there.

Could use some landscaping.

3.5 is on the perfect trip... Summer season, particularly 4th of July along Route 95 shore think 5+. I have seen 5-6hrs. on a July 4th prime time travel just to get to New London casinos which is typically 2+ hours perfect trip. Rhode Island shore is a great vacation spot for sure...

What I take from the article is that outside of NJ you can get waterfront property with taxes 40% less the a condo jersey city.

You don't clock in as mayor, you can be there for weeks and still do your job. There is a thing called skype.
