This may be helpful to you. Its from the official Little League web site. It breaks down the divisions and age brackets from T-ball for the very small kids up to the major divisions - the older children.

Ah yes, the looney bin! It was the Jersey City Sheltered Boarding Home. Home of Marta (with no H), the gentle giant named Frank, the odd couple, LeRoy the Space Cowboy who perpetually dressed like a cowboy wearing ski boots and his mate Gloria, of the bleached blond hair. Not to leave out the Beret wearing Broom and Mop Lady and the Ancient Jogger. We fondly referred to them as "the Residents." Sadly the place got so raunchy and panhandler ridden in later years we were not sad to see them leave.

I believe that corner has (or had) been slated for redevelopment of some sort with the Doe Fund.

They are also booting legally parked cars with out of date or failed inspection stickers. I have seen 2 on my block and several on surrounding streets in Bergen-Lafayette. Be careful if you are overdue for inspection.

Even with race added, that leaves a lot of room for guessing. What about a real physical description? Does he have long hair, short hair, or no hair? Blond, brunette, redhead? dark skinned, fair skinned? How about a beard, mustache, clean shaven. Just saying black or white guy in maroon sweat pants isn't going to help too much. Of course, the unfortunate victim may be too traumatized to give any description other than what we have.

Considering the amount of dog poop complaints there have been on this site, do you really think its a good idea for people to run their dogs IN A BASEBALL FIELD! Sliding might take on a whole new meaning for the players.

SHAME ON YOU to St. Peter's College parking lot on the corner of Montgomery and Tuers. They manage to shovel their lot, but fail (once again) to shovel or make any passageway at all on the sidewalk along Montgomery St. or Tuers Avneue side of their lot.

Also on Tuers Avenue (between Academy St. and Vroom St.) to whomever left the whopping 4 foot pile of snow, which covers the entire sidewalk, next to the private parking lot with the black electronic gated fence. I don't know who is responsible, the lot owner or the house next to it, but they do this every time it snows heavily.

You can try this link on the Jersey City web site:
http://mygovhelp.com/JERSEYCITYNJ/_cs ... t.aspx?cat=0&sSessionID=&

If that link doesn't work right, its in the Online Help Center on the official JC site. You can attach a photo of the hideous pile of refuse. I used this once to report an abandoned apartment house that was collecting garbage in the vestibule and trash was spilling out onto the side walk. It took them about a week I think, but the city cleaned the garbage and the building owner got a nice big bill. I like that. If you create a login, you can check the progress of your request online.

There is no end to the foot in mouth disease afflicting our leaders. Its a park, NOT a racetrack. Huge, whopping difference. People who live downtown, you do not want to hear the noise that would emanate from a racetrack for endless hours. Really.

Young children (and sometimes adults with dementia) have an unfortunate ability to either open locks that are supposed to secure them or lock themselves in a room when you don't want them to (who hasn't known a kid who has locked themselves in the bathroom?)

People who probably overpaid for their homes, will probably do better as the values have fallen for them. For people who bought modest homes years ago and have lived or planned to live a lifetime in them, those folks will be the hardest hit in this.

Plenty of people will not be able to pay their taxes, they will lose their homes, the city will lose ratables and then they will have an excuse to raise taxes yet again, because now they are collecting less tax money! It never ends.

Yes. I'd really love to see the guy in the burberry trench coat be forced to go back and retrieve the overstuffed tall kitchen can bag he dropped off by the waste basket on the corner because he missed garbage day. He didn't even have the decency to try to stuff it in the can, he just left the bag on the sidewalk next to the can. Its very difficult to juggle trash bag with his laptop bag. Good work you new to neighborhood - educated looking guy!!! I wave my cane in your general direction!!!

Yup. She's had mold for almost two years, yet stayed in the apartment because she liked the absurdly cheap rent. She could easily find a one bedroom for $783/month without a mold problem if she wanted.

Let's see. There is mold. The ceilings leak (more than one apt.) The heater doesn't work. Whether or not the rent is cheap doesn't matter. That's the rent they charge.

It does matter that this building was totally gutted and converted into apartments. I'm more interested in who did such crappy work and how they got away with it.

Of course you can protest to bring them back if you do it in a lawful manner. But whether it would make a difference or not is questionable.

This is done at other grammar schools throughout the city. Usually they close off a street in the morning before school begins, at lunch time, and at dismissal in the afternoon.

Where does one begin? How about (1) the JCPD saying so, and (2) my tow truck guy saying this wasn't the first new car he'd had to carry off in this neighborhood, and telling me how his ne'er do well buddies go "car shopping" here in the dead of night.

? (2) Your tow truck guy has "ne're do well buddies" who go car shopping in your neighborhood and you let that guy tow your car? Most disturbing.

I don't know of any list , but here are 2 of the missing #s:

PS#18 was on Storms Avenue. It has been remade into apartments. The building is at least 100 years old.

PS#1 is (or was) on Duncan between Blvd and West Side Ave - closer to West Side Ave. I think now its an annex to PS #23.

I don't live down on Pine St. but it seem many of those side streets are quite tiny. I don't think its a NIMBY issue. Where will the faculty park? Where will the parents who pick up the kids park? How will delivery trucks drop things off or school busses drop off kids? Those things do have to be considered.

What do you find intriguing about Daggett?

I haven't found enough about him to have any opinion at all.

At this point I'm sticking with my party line and voting for Corzine.

I certainly won't vote for Christie because I find his positions overly conservative and don't think he has the skill sets for the job.

While I am not willing to deify Corzine the state of the economy has been rather unusual and severe. With that in mind I can't be so harsh on him in terms of the state budget or the pension.

In terms of Daggett, I just can't vote for someone simply because he's different. Additionally, he's surfaced pretty late in the game and probably too late to make a real impression on enough voters to actually win. Supporting an independent at this juncture, IMHO would only serve to serve the election up to the republicans.

I find I dislike the other choices...which is a not a great reason to vote for Dagget, but yet that is why we got stuck with the same mayor, because most people voted for the same old thing (no I didn't). I am tired of feeling like I need to take another shower after voting. So, I am going for someone outside the box.

I remember the houses you are talking about Xerxes. They are on a side street near the Hub. I am not sure, but I think they were rowhouses that were gutted and rebuilt (an apparently not very well). They looked so nice from the outside.

I am pretty sure this housing is the new construction right on MLK. Lets hope they've done a better job with the plumbing. : (
