The wheels wouldn't of gotten stolen if they didn't leave the wheel lock in a easy place to be found and used. It was probably left in the glove compartment.

Ugh. Two things. First of all, "wouldn't of" DOES NOT exist. You meant to use "wouldn't have", just like "would of" doesn't exist and you should use "would've" or "would have". The same goes for "should", "could", etc.

Wouldn't of Reference

Second, nice way to blame the victim. And, on top of everything, you are wrong. The so-called secure wheel locks are anything but foolproof. They sell generic ones for all makes and models, and there are ways to undo wheel locks with a hammer, a tire iron and some elbow grease. Search online for the YouTube videos.

This is what qualifies as news worthy? People's entire cars get stolen every day, this shocked women has her wheels taken and we get a news article. Awesome!

It highlights how quick thieves respond to new products on display.

As for re-sale, the engraving or acid etch doesn't have to be that big and a small warning sticker on a number of windows highlighting that they have been so protected, could be incorporated. (even a set of serial numbers on the rim's face will do the job; so via a quick glance you could identify the rims / numbers) This would also make it very easy for cops to look at them when doing a random or traffic stop.

Here is a business opportunity - Dealers offering to engrave / acid etch rims for new car buyers ... it could also be retro-done for others !

This would deter thieves.

I wouldn't mind FAT-ASS-BIKE on my rims !

It still has that "new car" smell, but what it doesn't have is tires.

A Jersey City woman was shocked when her son, who was heading out to work at 5:45 this morning, told her someone had swiped all four tires from the shiny red 2014 Honda Civic she purchased 12 days ago.

I heard of this happening at least 3 times in DTJC: 2 luxury SUVs and a BMW. First time I heard of this happening to a freakin' Civic.

Really? Civics are one of the most likely cars to be broken into. Dem parts.

I'm surprised anyone with a nice car parks on the street in JC. If you can afford a nice car, you can afford the parking spot.
