I don't think we ever came here to thank all of our neighbors who stopped by for our Grand Opening BBQ. It was a a lot of fun, and it was cool having Mayor Fulop and Councilwoman Osborne over for a ribbon-cutting. NJ News should be airing something soon about us as well, so we'll post that up once it airs.

It was such a great time that we're planning something for next season's JC Fridays with live music and comedy, and possibly a beer garden in the parking lot.

We're planning a beer tasting next Thursday, June 12 from 6-8pm, but couldn't decide on a brewery. We're going to do either Stone, Smuttynose, or North Coast. If any of you have a preference, let us know here, or on facebook, or just stop into the shop and tell us.

We also have a Southern Tier tasting on Thursday, June 26.

Upcoming classes include a June 29th cider-making class (sold out), a July 13th Intro to Brewing Class, and an August 3rd All-Grain Brewing Class.

Hey everybody, just a couple news items on things.

If any of you are brewers, we want to cover our beer fridge with homebrew labels. Bring a label or two into the shop and we'll slap it on the fridge!

We're also working on a few 1-gallon recipes and should have some small-batch kits soon for people that want to test out brewing.

As for the growler situation, we're still working with the city and state the figure out the legalities. We'd had some good news before, but it's getting a little more complicated now. Hopefully we'll have a great announcement about it soon.

Our backyard is all cleaned up now, so classes on how to brew will be starting up as soon as this horrid cold weather goes away.

Oh, and we have a few tastings coming up soon! The first one will be spirits from Rogue, New Holland, Ballast Point, and Berkshire Mountain. We have a mailing list signup at the bottom of our site, if you want to be the first to know!

Been a couple times. Very well curated collection, and the staff are some of the friendliest in town.

I'm really glad to hear it! If you haven't been by recently, we've got way more beer now than we did a couple of weeks ago. Just checked and it's 557, to be exact, and there's new stuff every day. We're also slowly shoring up our vodka, bourbon, and wine collections.

By the way, we had an article in the Jersey Journal with lots of pictures, check it out!

Just wanted to say I'm really glad you guys opened. I came in a couple weeks ago and bought a ton of beer, some I'd had and some I hadn't. Particularly enjoyed the Ayinger Celebrator. Went to buy rite today, which used to be my go-to place, and I'd wished I'd gone to yours.

We've had so many people ask us about growlers, and having actual members of the community on video bugging us about it will make it that much easier to to get it happening.

Who are your trying to convince with this promo video? Is it a funding thing or city ordinance?

We just got Palate Wrecker and Hop Head Red in today! Along with another 38 new beers, and some more spirits from Rogue and other craft distilleries. I've decided to try and keep a daily tally of what new stuff comes in.
http://thirstyquaker.com/whats-new/

I'll check in to the Salty Clamdigger. Texan beers are difficult to come by so I doubt we'll get that beer from Marfa, but I'll keep my ears open.

If you all have requests, please send them to contact@thirstyquaker.com, or stop into the shop and fill out our request sheet.

I would Love to see some Salty Clamdigger Sunday Stout from Northampton or even the Dry Crack Bitter from Marfa, TX.

At the moment we have Zoe and Mean Old Tom from Maine. We got cleaned out of Peeper this weekend. We're trying to get some more, but it's in high demand! We'll look into the other two.

We're trying to get our growler system set up ASAP, so we'll have Carton on draft. They've started doing cans of Boat as well, but are only supplying to places that do growlers already at the moment, so once we do draft we should be able to get cans as well.

I'm Curious, how does JC Buy Rite have Boat Cans without growler fills?
Probably because of buying power, Buy Rite gets special treatment because of the huge buying power they have.

Are you able to get Blue Point Mosaic, and Kane Ripple? What about anything from Maine Beer Company?

There may be a few galaxy specific beers out there but there aren't a lot. I think your best bet would be to go into your good beer store of choice and ask. That's what I would do anyway. There are some out there but not that many are distributed in our area.

If you enjoyed Clown Shoes Galactica, definitely pick up some Weyerbacher Double Simco IPA next time you're in there. I think it's very similar to the CSG, but tastier IMHO.

Haha, well we're beer people so we really need the community to tell us what wines to stock. If you've got any suggestions, we'd love to hear them. Most of the wines we've tasted so far have been excellent for the price, so I think we're doing a pretty good job overall.

I went on Friday night, Feb 28. Pretty good selection, enough to keep you trying new beers. I like the place. One thing..what are you doing with Skinny Girl wine??? Curious, did you sell any of that stuff?

Is there anyway to see your inventory online? I know you have the PDF but I also know that it can't be easy for you guys to update on a delivery-by-delivery basis.

Today we got a few things from Clown Shoes: Clementine White, Hoppy Feet, and Undead Party Crasher. We also got a few more scotches in.

I'll be updating that beer list online in a bit actually, as it's somewhat outdated. We have plans to join beermenus.com to make it easier to find out what's in stock, or you can check us out on twitter https://twitter.com/ThirstyQuaker, as we'll be tweeting the new stuff.

There are a few specialty stores in NY that ship out of state brews in. BuyRite in Edison does as well.

One can only hope..
