Who Said I was from Ct. ? I am not as Naive as you think. I understand that JC is a City, but when I can't even get a Cop to my building for an in progress assault, there's a problem.

You can keep the wool over your eyes and call people names, but the bottom line is this City needs Help and douche Bags like you are not the answer!

Good riddance, Sally.

Crime is not "out of control". Nor do the police "not care".

I know it's old and tired but, you live in a city! While some of this city is inhabited by respectable, job holding tax payers, there are still some areas that are impoverished and crime ridden.

Why you moved to JC and expected the crime rates of an upscale Connecticut neighborhood is beyond comprehension.

You want to charge him as much as possible so the major ones stick better.
I don't think he was j-walking tho.

Why didn't they charge him with hollow points & the curfew?
I wonder how much time he will get in juvi & if he will be sentenced after that.

You want them to give him a j-walking ticket too?

possession of a weapon by a minor, and possession of a prohibited weapon prob have the curfew part trump'd.

Teen shoots himself in the buttocks, police say

Wednesday, April 28, 2010
By TOM SHORTELL
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

Police say a 14-year-old Jersey City boy shot himself in the butt after officers ordered him and four other youths to stop Monday night.

Two plainclothes cops were patrolling the area of Claremont Avenue and Clerk Street Monday night after a string of shootings and robberies, according to a police report.

At about 11:27 p.m., the officers spotted five young men walking west on Claremont Avenue. The cops pulled out their badges and ordered the boys to stop and heard a gunshot come from where the boys were standing, police said.

Officers then noticed blood dripping down the pants leg of the 14-year-old and found a .22-caliber handgun loaded with hollow-point bullets on the sidewalk where the boy was standing.

The 14-year-old was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment for a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

The boy was charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, possession of a weapon by a minor, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The four other boys were released without charges
