Start with the easy stuff like knocking "Inspire" offline. That online site encouraged and had directions on how to best use a vehicle as an assault weapon. Probably could have killed hundreds when they were at their zenith in the ISIL Caliphate... now many have returned to home countries.

There are many people posting on this thread that are upset about this terroristic act being associated with muslims. Finally ISIS solved that mystery. When you see trouble stomp it out, get to the root of the source. It's not as isolated as you think.

The events unfolding in Turkey are amazing to watch and listen to on tv... 20 years ago, that coup would have worked but the speed and power of mass communication saved the day for the government in this case. The enlisted and conscripted troops were not going to fire on the people in the streets. It will be interesting to see where Turkey goes from here. Has to be a big sigh of relief in Washington DC.

Erdogan purged the military of the pro-West / Secular elements of the officer corp a long while back. It appears (for now) that the coup leaders are hard core Islamists that Erdogan allowed to move up in the ranks. Apparently Erdogan lost control of the beast, which has decided Edrogan wasn't Muslim enough and therefore (for the time being) has been removed from power.

Turkey controls the largest and most capable conventional army in Europe. Given that it is a NATO member, we are obligated to defend Turkey if it gets into a fight with say, Russia. Which is something Turkey has been trying damn hard to instigate.

Otherwise they are guaranteed to be suppressed by the Western governments who are really complicit in these atrocities by hiding them as best they can.
