If they're hanging out on a gold course wouldn't they make great bouillon? Weren't pigs traditionally fed human feces? What did that bacon taste like?

Someone eventually will probably think they might taste good. Wild Turkey Recipes! The problem with wild fowl is they taste a lot like whatever they have been eating. A goose or turkey that has been hanging out in a corn field tastes great. If they have been hanging out in a gold course, they taste like lawn fertilizer.

The one I saw was a male and it was pretty big. I guess he has been eating well.

I guess the turkey sightings show how civilized JC is. One of my favorite anecdotes is not long after Laotian Hmong refugees were settled in a Minnesota town people noticed there were fewer ducks in the town pond. The Hmong couldn't imagine a reason not to take some of those tame tasty ducks. They would just come right over if you threw them some bread!

Driving towards the A&P on Saturday, there was a wild turkey in the grass lot adjacent to the Lackawanna Warehouse. It was only a foot or so away from a little girl who was standing on the opposite side of a chain link fence.
The turkey apparently had little fear of people. I wonder what the turkeys are eating in Jersey City?

From personal experience I'd rank skunks 1, turkeys 2, bears 3, deer 4 when it comes to fearing personal safety from my experience. Turkeys are really aggressive, but I always figured I could take one on. I've had cat sprayed by skunks, and it's ugly. Twice I've encountered bears, and they ran away. Deer just eat my hostas and piss me off. I guess I'd have to add the squirrels who ate the hundreds of fall flowering crocus bulbs I planted one August. Bastids.

Yes! I saw that, in Morristown Green. He was an odd bear, he did not seem to be afraid of people and was too close for comfort.

They had a pretty big black bear in the Green in Morristown yesterday, a turkey in JC isn't surprising, although turkeys can be more aggressive than bears.
