Earl did not call him a rat, but many people in the community including the political community called him a rat.

Yet, here he is in 2015, earning 75K as a "case manager" for the prison re-entry program. This on the heels of instrumental roles played in the campaigns of his daughter-in-law, councilwoman Coleman and Mayor Fulop. He's a player still. As the article says:

"...he remains a master political operative in Jersey City's heavily African-American Ward F."

Are you saying that because Earl Morgan wrote an opinion piece comparing McKnight to a rat, that somehow settles it in favor of the idea that the guy has no sway? Because, that's the inference I get.

Not at all surprised the man still carries clout given the fact that so many benefited from the 80s scheme he masterminded. A legend, his legacy and the Black cognoscenti. Who doesn't like a Michael Corleone and who dares to defy him?

But, I digress.

My issue is with the accrued interest on all that money owed. How much is 81.5K -- compounded annually over twenty years at 6% -- worth in today's dollars? Around a quarter million I'll bet! This amount ought to be his "one-shot-deal."

Al Sharpton owes millions of dollars in taxes and refuses to pay. Yet Obama doesn't take action against him, instead treating him as a great friend.

So Fulop's just following the "progressive" playbook.

How can we have an executive in the prisoner re-entry program setting an example by not paying his debt to society, after helping steal MILLIONS OF DOLLARS from NJ taxpayers?

Another example of how tone deaf McGreevey is, no?

Perhaps it's just me, but I ponder at the timing of all of this "house cleaning." The McKnight issue was extremely well known and publicized. While I commend McGreevy for his commitment to rehabilitation, I do think it's a stretch for anyone to believe he (and the mayor for that matter) didn't know about McKnight's past.

So those playing along at home are left to wonder, why now?

In what is becoming business as usual, the Fulop Administration seems to have a different view of the professional conduct, ethics and standards they held previous administrations too. Employing public fraud felons and overt racists in high profile city paid jobs and then removing them and hiding them in another city position is all to common these days.

I have his 1992 judgment. It only required him to give up the job he had, JC HR director.

Mr. McGreevey,

Please provide evidence that Mr. McKnight has entered into a payment plan to pay down restitution, I beg you. For transparency sakes. Steve, you have to nip this now, you cannot have this. It cannot be tolerated. This gentlemen stole, was found guilty, and refuses to pay. It's disgusting.

Even if it doesn't, it should be very easy for the state to garnish his pay and/or levy his bank account. He's making a fool out of everyone. Just appalling.

Isn't there a time limit of something like 20 years to collect a judgement?
