Agreed. Saw this clueless ass yesterday on Baldwin. Boris will be pleased that it reminds me of something I learned in an Ayn Rand novel, those who can't create are happy to deliberately destroy to make their mark, in this case destroying the peace and quiet of our neighborhoods. I'm certain he views this as his "art".

People defending this as something they miss about "old Jersey City" prove the point that no matter how obnoxious an activity, if it has been around long enough you will find people silly enough to defend it as "tradition." As a yuppy who absolutely loves the gentrification I see around me, I'd love nothing more than to ticket that jerk out of existence.

4 flat tires will change his tune! Might have to do some old school social justice to make this old school idiot get the point. See him drinking at Healy's a couple of times only to get in that old jeep all buzzed up and speeding around Newark Ave with some old toothless hag next to him!

Do you think a video vouched for by 3 or 4 residents has any weight in terms of enforcement?[/quote]

Maybe. Not to mention the fact he has a YouTube channel with several self-incriminating videos on it already.

Lots of kids blast club and R&B just as loudly. I don't mind him much since he only seems to come around every few weeks or so in the warm weather, and never late at night.

I actually miss this, a lot. I also miss the domino games on the street and people hanging outside enjoying the air.

Domino games and people hanging outside are generally not so noisy, nor do they usually happen at night (well, I guess people hang around outside at night but their conversations aren't so loud). Nor is there any city ordinance against such activity. Blasting music from a jeep on the other hand is extremely rude and obnoxious and violates a city ordinance (of course you have to catch him in the act to enforce and that just never happens). Yes, I know there will always be noise in a city, but this is someone who is deliberately causing an unnecessary disturbance. Apparently the only way you can get him fined (and possibly change his ways) is to note the license plate number and then go file a complaint in the local court.

I see he has a YouTube channel as well where he proudly has videos of himself blaring the music and his name is Rocky Esposito. How obnoxious. This cannot be legal.

If he was sitting in the same place for 10 minutes, surely the police could have done something about it.

I will get some water balloons for the next situation.

He's been around quite a while. I usually don't mind it but yesterday the volume was out of control. I had to put my phone conversation on hold for a bit til he made it out of the neighborhood.

that guy has been in/out of JC for years. IIRC he has a tan jeep with huge speakers in the back.

I think he took the Freedom Rock ads quite literally...

He came down Erie Street twice around 11:30. Maybe if I hear it again it might be worthwhile to go outside and wait for act II to see if I can get a plate number.

Some jerk in an open jeep has been circling downtown for the past 3 hours with his radio blaring (classic rock, FWIW).

I'd call the non-emergency number, but I can't see the police staking out my corner for when he circles around again.

Anybody got a couple of water balloons and good aim?
