It scratches that greasy spoon burger itch. It reminds me of the counter at my dad's old luncheonette in JC, and the diner we operated in Elizabeth later on.

A gourmet burger is fine, but in most cases, I can make a better one at home anyway. But if I do go out for a "nice" burger, I go to the White Star on Brunswick.

3-Delenio's Pasta Bolonese with linguine.
4-Torico's 1 scoop of chocolate chunk and 1 scoop of mint cookies
5-Pecoraro?s bread. Period. Everything.
6-Skinner's Loft NY Strip Steak (Med Rare) with mash potatoes and saut?ed brusell sprouts on side
7-Juicing from produce at the Farmer's Markets at Grove St, Hamilton Park, Van Vorst Park, or the health food store on Newark Ave, including wheat grass shots.
8-Lemon Salsa chicken with yellow rice, black beans, and sweet plantains from Hard Grove (with hot sauce)
9-Bartholdi Burger at Left Bank (or substitute with chicken) and sweet potato fries
10-I'll leave this open to new culinary experiences.....

I'll have to try the roast beef at Carmine's, I've been underwhelmed on previous visits. Their Italian sub isn't near the one I get at Andrea Salumeria in the Heights or Benanti's in Bayonne.
