I don't think we ever came here to thank all of our neighbors who stopped by for our Grand Opening BBQ. It was a a lot of fun, and it was cool having Mayor Fulop and Councilwoman Osborne over for a ribbon-cutting. NJ News should be airing something soon about us as well, so we'll post that up once it airs.
It was such a great time that we're planning something for next season's JC Fridays with live music and comedy, and possibly a beer garden in the parking lot. We're planning a beer tasting next Thursday, June 12 from 6-8pm, but couldn't decide on a brewery. We're going to do either Stone, Smuttynose, or North Coast. If any of you have a preference, let us know here, or on facebook, or just stop into the shop and tell us. We also have a Southern Tier tasting on Thursday, June 26. Upcoming classes include a June 29th cider-making class (sold out), a July 13th Intro to Brewing Class, and an August 3rd All-Grain Brewing Class.

Been a couple times. Very well curated collection, and the staff are some of the friendliest in town.

I'm really glad to hear it! If you haven't been by recently, we've got way more beer now than we did a couple of weeks ago. Just checked and it's 557, to be exact, and there's new stuff every day. We're also slowly shoring up our vodka, bourbon, and wine collections.
By the way, we had an article in the Jersey Journal with lots of pictures, check it out! http://www.nj.com/jjournal-news/index ... _be_a_h.html#incart_river

Just wanted to say I'm really glad you guys opened. I came in a couple weeks ago and bought a ton of beer, some I'd had and some I hadn't. Particularly enjoyed the Ayinger Celebrator. Went to buy rite today, which used to be my go-to place, and I'd wished I'd gone to yours.

Just a funding thing. We're planning a Kickstarter to get the equipment funded, and in exchange we'll give people some badass growlers filled with beer, and potentially a few other things. Still putting the details together, but getting a kickstarter campaign will help us get our draft system set up a lot faster, as the equipment is somewhat expensive.

Who are your trying to convince with this promo video? Is it a funding thing or city ordinance?

I promise we'll stop bugging everyone on JCList soon, but we do have a request. We're trying to get our growler system set up ASAP, but want to make a short video to promote the idea. If anyone wants to take 5 seconds to make a cameo in it, just ask a cashier about growlers. We've had so many people ask us about growlers, and having actual members of the community on video bugging us about it will make it that much easier to to get it happening.

http://thirstyquaker.com/whats-new/ I'll check in to the Salty Clamdigger. Texan beers are difficult to come by so I doubt we'll get that beer from Marfa, but I'll keep my ears open. If you all have requests, please send them to contact@thirstyquaker.com, or stop into the shop and fill out our request sheet.

I would Love to see some Salty Clamdigger Sunday Stout from Northampton or even the Dry Crack Bitter from Marfa, TX.

At the moment we have Zoe and Mean Old Tom from Maine. We got cleaned out of Peeper this weekend. We're trying to get some more, but it's in high demand! We'll look into the other two.

There may be a few galaxy specific beers out there but there aren't a lot. I think your best bet would be to go into your good beer store of choice and ask. That's what I would do anyway. There are some out there but not that many are distributed in our area.

If you enjoyed Clown Shoes Galactica, definitely pick up some Weyerbacher Double Simco IPA next time you're in there. I think it's very similar to the CSG, but tastier IMHO.

I recently tried Clown Shoes Galactica and was really impressed. Are there many other commercial ales use Galaxy hops in the finish, and are balanced this well? For my tastes, this one really stands out among the American pale ales I?ve tasted over the past 25 years.

EXACTLY !! Beer, not wine...you can't compete with MC in the neighborhood, so go with your strength. Beer, Scotch, Whiskey.... but no Skinny Girl wine please.

Haha, well we're beer people so we really need the community to tell us what wines to stock. If you've got any suggestions, we'd love to hear them. Most of the wines we've tasted so far have been excellent for the price, so I think we're doing a pretty good job overall.

I went on Friday night, Feb 28. Pretty good selection, enough to keep you trying new beers. I like the place. One thing..what are you doing with Skinny Girl wine??? Curious, did you sell any of that stuff?

Today we got a few things from Clown Shoes: Clementine White, Hoppy Feet, and Undead Party Crasher. We also got a few more scotches in. I'll be updating that beer list online in a bit actually, as it's somewhat outdated. We have plans to join beermenus.com to make it easier to find out what's in stock, or you can check us out on twitter https://twitter.com/ThirstyQuaker, as we'll be tweeting the new stuff.

There are a few specialty stores in NY that ship out of state brews in. BuyRite in Edison does as well.
One can only hope..
