Last time I ordered from Rasoi, I ordered chicken tikka masala and there was 2 pieces of chicken in it. Delivery took well over an hour to get to me as well. Haven't been able to find a decent Indian food place in JC.

Another +1 for Rasoi. I've never ordered them for delivery, but they are my favorite Indian spot in JC. Chicken tika masala, lamb biryani, lamb vindaloo, samosa choley, garlic naan... all excellent. And make sure you get a fruit punch lassi to wash it all down, so good!

I like Rasoi. Portions are huge, prices are good. We always end up with at least a couple meals worth of food from a single order. As far as I can tell they don't make things particularly spicy unless you ask -- so we order via Seamless where there are multiple levels of hotness to choose from.

Ordering Indian from one of the great restaurants on Newark Ave is too variable for me.

I'm happy enough getting my delivery from Amiya now that Spirit of Laxmi is complete crap.

Rasoi is the best Indian food in Jersey City. But, be prepared to wait a while if you order around common supper time.

We are a big fan of Amiya in our house. It's by Exchange Place, a little pricey but yum.

I've tried 3 places in JC, and all were okay, but I think I'm looking for the Indian food I ate when in the UK, and the menus just aren't that. I prefer British Indian food.

This is why I never order Indian from Newark Avenue. 1 hour is the least I've waited and I've waited up to 2 hours. I gave up. I tried ordering early, figuring if I ordered at 5pm, I'd have the food by 6pm. Stoopid rationale and it seemed to take even longer.

However, this thread got me salivating for Indian. I was gonna give it a try after several years of not ordering out Indian, but I figured I'd check the Yelp reviews first. The reviews were mixed as far as the food but a number of people commented on the delivery time being over an hour. I ended up making a salad.

Thanks for the recommendation. Food was great but the delivery time was over an hour.

I love Canteen, the best food in JC period. They deliver up by me so I am sure they will deliver wherever you are. The wait is usually about 20-35 min depending on what is ordered.

I haven't ordered Indian in JC yet. We typically use Seamless but nothing seems to be sticking out.

Any suggestions from JC List?
