We don't. The Weather Channel started it as a publicity stunt to get more clicks on their site. Nobody else (National Weather Service, NOAA, etc.) uses these stupid names.

While not referencing me, an old girlfriend used to say 'weathermen are like all other men. They promise you nine inches, and you're lucky to get five'.

This morning, NBC News was calling it a "mammoth" storm. All I could picture in my mind was "Ice Age" the movie.

No, because "Hercules" is just some dumb name the Weather Channel is using to hype up its ratings, not anything official. And it's remarkably dumb and sensationalist that they're doing so, as "winter storms" are not discrete entities the way tropical cyclones (hurricanes) are.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said that the Long Island Expressway will close at midnight. Did anyone hear from Christie yet?

Key Food is very busy too, but not zoological at all. Did overhear a rather heated discussion on whether to get the organic baby spinach or the organic arugula.
More importantly, what will this storm be named. I'm hoping Benign Blizzard Blanche or Half-assed Snow Storm Gale

Shop Rite on Marin is a zoo . . . a perfect storm of people getting their monthly food stamp money and a 'milk and egger' on the way!

I wouldn't say it's the last minute yet.. but I'd imagine the schools will be closed.

So my office has already told everyone to work from home tomorrow.
When will we have a decision from Jersey City schools? Difficult to make plans when the Jersey City Board of Education decides at the last minute. Robin.
