FYI - there are plenty of Brazilians who are of Asian descent.

PORRA! It is brazilian!

Clashes?! Not to get all colorful on you but green is a secondary color of blue and yellow... how can that possibly clash?

I thought the food was pretty good and plentiful. It reminded me of Portugese (phonetic) from down neck, Newark. They appear to have a good following and weekend crowd.

It is way too meaty for us -- really nothing for vegans or even vegetarians -- but it is often very crowded -- but I guess just just not by people from this list. Hope they do well!

Tried this place also recently, very average food. Not sure if they'll last here long, it's as if that corner is cursed. Wish them all the best though, they seem really nice.

Tried this place Friday night. We sat for several minutes before I had to get up and ask for menus. When bread came we were never given small plates to eat from, so we ate on our placemats. Food was so-so, I'd put it on par with cafeteria style. Not over cooked, not under cooked, little to no seasoning. I'd give them a second try in a few months if they are still around.

I ate there, it's not Polish. Kind of a mixed bad of Latin food. I was not impressed at all and won't be going back. I hope they hit their stride but my impression was a bunch of friends decided to start a restaurant because they liked to cook.

So has anybody eaten at this Golden Grill yet? Jogged past it today. Any reviews from JClisters? Yelp has only a couple of reviews so far.

I am aware -- you really need to ask in most polish places -- and even then some places are risky -- but thanks!

Don't assume a vegetable soup is vegetarian,GP - a lot are made with chicken stock. I asked the cook at Europa why their kasha was so good - they make it with broth.

Polish sounds great on a winter day!

I was just at Europa -- I hope this new place has fresh boiled potato & onion pierogies (as well as mushroom, sweet potato etc...) obviously they will have the meat eaters covered -- but please give some thought to all the vegetarians Downtown!

Nice hot vegetable soup with rye bread!

I hope it is going to be as good as some of the old places in the East Village and Greenpoint -- or out in Wallington!

What will they think of next? A Puerto Rican bar?

The "Golden Grill"? Someone call a doctor, the excitement is just killing me.

Just passed this last night and it seems like they are ready to open. There is no official signage, but it looks like its going to be called "Golden Grill". They are hiring wait and kitchen staff. I hope this place sticks.
