I saw on the news today that the man indeed did not have power and was keeping warm with two pots of boiling water on his stove that caught fire - power had just been turned back on when the pots ignited and he was killed - very sad situation

Thats why the sale of kerosene heaters is banned in Hudson County...because it is DANGEROUS.

Not saying this fire is related -- but giving out 10 gallons of gas per person is just plain crazy -- give cash and let people buy gas -- gas is explosive -- I saw people doing crazy things with this free gas in unsafe containers when I was driving through Union City!

Channel 7 had a chopper flying.. It's a 2 alarm fire on Bramhaul Ave .

Certainly not from the Journal Square area. JSQ is much further North. This is south and west of Beacon.

I see smoke bellowing from the Greenville/Lafayette/Communipaw (?) section, and a bunch of fire trucks are headed that way. I really hope its not something bad!
