Hey Snibe-agra, they're the ones that wanted to flaunt their wealth. If I did catch these guys, which I have no intention of doing since they're armed, it would put me in double digits for perps put away. You are welcome BTW.

I am pretty much willing to bet that I am safer DT than in any other 'borough' of JC. I don't delude myself into believing DT is without risk... but it is safer.
There is nothing wrong with having nice things, but you should be aware of where you take them.

Most of these carjackings are crews that look for then follow cars they like until the right moment before they pounce. They could care less what neighborhood you live in they care more about getting your car. 2 of these carjackings were in Downtown, one was followed from Downtown... http://jclist.com/modules/newbb/viewt ... id=282161#forumpost282161 http://jclist.com/modules/newbb/viewt ... id=279331#forumpost279331 http://jclist.com/modules/newbb/viewt ... id=280831#forumpost280831 These carjacking crews are also hitting other areas including suburbs too... http://www.nj.com/jjournal-weeklies/i ... ice_warn_of_carjacki.html http://www.northjersey.com/news/13557 ... _scene_of_carjacking.html http://www.northjersey.com/news/13903 ... ng_on_Clinton_Street.html http://www.northjersey.com/topstories ... rjacking_.html?c=y&page=1 http://www.northjersey.com/news/050810_carjack.html http://www.northjersey.com/news/berge ... arjacked_at_gunpoint.html

I am sure we have all spent a few bills on things that other see as ridiculous...
I hate to say it... but if you have anything nice... avoiding places outside of downtown at night is probably a good call...

It isn't up to anyone here to judge these people for having the money to buy an $85,000. car. They can do as they wish with their money.
It wouldn't be a top priority for me to have an expensive car like that but I say mazel tov to anyone who worked their arses off in order to buy an expensive car. The have-nots always seem so jealous of other people's stuff....It's pathetic.

Fantastic, if I owned a luxury motor vehicle and couldn't make lease or bank payments on the vehicle, I too would drive around JC streets in the hope that I would be carjacked and then let my insurance pay any outstanding debts and pocket the balance - JC sure has a lot to offer !

Suspects sought for Hudson County carjacking and attempted carjacking
Published: Sunday, March 11, 2012, 2:14 PM Updated: Sunday, March 11, 2012, 2:27 PM By The Jersey Journal Police are searching for two suspects wanted for a carjacking and an attempted carjacking in Hudson County on Friday, WABC-TV reported. It started around 8:42 p.m. when the two men tried to carjack an Aston Martin at River Road and 77th Street in North Bergen, according to the news station. Two men wearing black bandanas displayed a handgun and ordered the driver to exit the $200,000 vehicle. But when one of the suspects got behind the wheel of the vehicle, he was unable to start the car, WABC-TV said. The suspects got out and took off in a gold or beige 1998 Nissan that was reported stolen out of Jersey City, according to the report. Ten minutes later in Weehawken, on the Pleasant Avenue ramp near the Lincoln Tunnel, there was another carjacking fitting the same description. This time the suspects took a blue Jaguar, WABC-TV reported.

Sounds like this was their first attempt before they got the Mercedes....
Jersey City police say carjacker flees empty-handed after second driver knocks him down with car Published: Saturday, March 10, 2012, 3:02 AM By John Heinis/The Jersey Journal A Jersey City man foiled an attempted carjacking by hitting the gun-wielding thug with his car Thursday night, police reports said. The Logan Avenue man, 33, was at the intersection of Sip Avenue and Routes 1&9 around 8 p.m. when he saw a thin man with a ski mask and a gun trying to take the car next to him at the traffic light, reports said. Instead of fleeing, the quick-thinking Jersey City man threw his car into reverse, then put it into drive and hit the assailant with his car, police said. The assailant was knocked to the ground, but got up and fled toward Duncan Avenue, the driver told cops. Police searched the area of Lincoln Park, Duncan and Sip avenues in an attempt to find the gun-wielding man, but were unable to locate him. Anyone with information on the crime should contact the Jersey City Police Department?s Tip Line at (201) 547-JAIL.

Jersey City police are looking for a masked gunman and an accomplice who carjacked an $85,000 Mercedes sport utility vehicle from six members of a Monroe Township family last night, officials said.
Officers responding to Huron Avenue just after 8 p.m. met the driver who said he, his wife, mother-in-law, and three children were getting out of the car when a man wearing a ski mask approached and turned a gun on him, reports said. The gunman demanded the keys before walking across the street and speaking to an accomplice seated in a dark colored vehicle, reports said. The gunman then returned to the Mercedes and drove away heading south on Huron, reports said. Anyone with information on the carjacking is asked to call the Jersey City police tip line at (201) 547-JAIL. http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... snatches_85000_merce.html
