On Feb. 8, there was a crime rally at City Hall in Jersey City. Of course, City Council members were present and nearly 100 residents. The big question is where was Mayor Healy? As I walked into City Hall, I saw Fox 5 News outside. I went over to talk to the TV news crew to ask them were they ready for the rally and they told me they were there for the "Jersey Shore" story. I couldn't believe what they said.

Celebrity stories are more important than the safety of Jersey City residents. It made no sense to me. But what was more interesting was I found out Mayor Healy did an interview addressing the "Jersey Shore" story. He said he would love to see them come to Jersey City. If he can interview about a story like that but not show up to a City Council meeting to address the public about the ongoing crime issue, he needs to step down.

Also if the show does come to Jersey City, it means more police will be focused on them, which will take more eyes away from the rest of the city. If the mayor can't control crime now, what makes you think he can control it with a popular TV show.
Mayor Healy, do you have any common sense?

I'm more embarrassed by the people waiting around from outside our neighborhood excited to meet these "celebrities". You'd rather waste your time hanging out across the street for a glimpse of um, "celebrity"?. New low for America. Entered a food establishment in their area today thinking we'd drop by for some food & drink, had some low brow Snooki & Jwoww sightseers pissed to the gills cheering on their viewing with a shot. We left and they cheered. Why? Because I wasn't wearing a wife beater & wanted to steer clear of their fake tan, me thinks. On another note, it was just a coincidence, but either way, we didn't want to stick around something that felt like I was in a bad 80's film. Local establishments gain four wasted losers seeking sub-fame for some locals willing to be loyal. Cannot wait for this low brow type of embarrassing reflection of what's bad in America to go so we can carry on with our lives.

Snooki, JWoww to film Jersey Shore finale special in New York tomorrow

March 03, 2012, 3:42 PM
By Stephanie Musat - The Jersey Journal

Any Snooki or JWoww sightings in Jersey City will be limited tomorrow as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley will be filming the season finale special/recap to "Jersey Shore" in New York.

The two will join six of the eight cast members at MTV Studios to recap the last season, reminisce about their antics, and possibly reveal some more information about their spin-off that they are currently filming out of a firehouse on Mercer Street.

Filming begins at 4:30 p.m. and tickets are sold out.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro will not be at the shoot.

Here's the description of the show from MTV:

Join Amy Paffrath and the cast as you're invited to mingle, ask questions, and interact with Pauly D., Vinny, Snooki, Deena, Sammi, and Jwoww as we shoot the season finale special to the biggest show on television.

Come prepared to have a great time and be on television! You'll make the club scene feel real, acting as the eye candy at the party as we shoot each finale segment. The evening will also feature; food, drinks, trivia, games, a special raffle and much more. Not to mention a sneak peek at the season finale and a special preview of "The Pauly D Project" and the new season of "Punk'd".

Come party with us. With this cast of characters, you never know just how outrageous Jersey can get!

'The Pauly D Project' trailer debuts (video)

Published: Thursday, March 01, 2012, 4:54 PM
Updated: Friday, March 02, 2012, 2:14 AM
By Anthony Venutolo/The Star-Ledger

MTV has rolled out the trailer for "The Pauly D Project" which is expected to debut during Thursday's episode of "Jersey Shore."

So what's it about? Basically what you see is what you get. There's oodles of Pauly "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio and his buddies cavorting around in Las Vegas as the reality star takes a deejay gig spinning at The Palms Casino and Resort. We'll also see DelVecchio signing an exclusive record contract with rapper 50 Cent's label and watch as he goes on tour with pop star Britney Spears.

Full piece….

How is this thread so far down on the main page? Could this thread not being at the top mean a growing acceptance of snook- ster?

On another note does anyone know what the name of the show will be? Can I throw "snookin for love" in to the ring?

It's the dogs and the dog owners that sh*t all over us in Jersey City. Not Snooki and Jwoww.

I'm guessing your obvious avoidance of the point of my post is a sign that you are conceding the point - namely that the morality police of JC List (MPJC) was up in arms for no reason about the "bad image" that these two will propagate with their show in our righteous small town.

I don't know what you are talking about. I don't care what they're claiming about their real plot-line but I do care that they use New JERSEY as a backdrop so they can continuely paint us in a bad light. These girls are not from Jersey but they are laughing all the way to the bank while they sh*t all over us. Meanwhile the yahoos in that photo as well as several JC Listers cheer them on. Good job.

My favorite quote from that article. Makes me feel like Nostradamus.

"They are so much smaller in real life," said Luis Martinez, who waited with his daughter, Nicole, 11, for the two to arrive. "She loves watching the show, she wants to be like Snooki."

She's tiny!!!! I just don't know where they're going to go. Seems like half the storefronts are either closed or stuck in build-out. Once they go to Kanibal and Tia's and Aspasias and Another Mans Treasure, what else is left really? Newport Mall. BJ's.

CityJersey is correct.

Ironically though, neither Snooki or JWoww are Italian in the least. Neither of them have any Italian heritage.

Jersey Shore is nothing but a modern day minstrel show of Italian American stereotypes.

My responses are a few sentences. Not a 40 paragraph diatribe on how "reality" tv is somehow pertuating a stereotype of a group of people. You know why stereotypes exist? Because there is a grain of truth to them. You may not like them, or agree with them, but that's a fact. A bunch of people didn't just say, "hey, you know what we should do. We should start saying that Italians are in the mafia, and live in north jersey in gaudy houses, while their wives stay home and gossip about the neighborhood." Is that true of all Italians? No. Are there other people of different backgrounds that do the same thing? Yes. People need to stop being so sensitive to every little issue. I am of 100% italian descent and I could care less about the Jersey stereotype. I don't fit in it, and it doesn't bother me one bit. Lighten up a bit. The entire universe is not out to get you believe it or not. You place far too much importance on yourself.

Mr_Johnson... Replace your stereotypes about Italians in your above quote with ones about say black people and it helps see how truly clueless you are:

Is that true of all the blacks? No. Are there other people of different backgrounds that do the same thing? Yes. People need to stop being so sensitive to every little issue. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

While Italian Americans do not have to face the same levels of racism and ethnic stereotypes of some other groups in America, it does not change the fact that the Jersey Shore show is extremely prejudiced towards Italian Americans and is helping create an offensive and negative depiction of Italians across American; especially with the younger age groups that watch this show.

Excellent point. When you secure a filming permit it gives you permission to park any vehicle needed for that production including "picture cars". I am guessing that they're not around for more than a couple hours anyway before they go home to wherever it is they really live. The beauty of this shoot is that the curiousity of "fans" is simply going to lead to the destruction of any illusion that the show is real or interesting. We have a saying in the film business that TV shows, films, music videos etc. are like sausage and you do not want to see how they are made. I always love when I'm doing a shoot on the street and the onlookers will quickly begin to dissipate out of boredom. Celebrities always cause people to linger around more but you always hear the comments "she's shorter than I thought" etc., etc. The realization that these are just two dumpy, badly dressed girls with zero talent who are not from NJ must be disheartening for so many.
