To all you "Banks & Wall St Bashers"....ever consider the fact that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (government agencies) are way more to blame for the crisis than the banks? Fannie & Freddie started buying mortgage back securities and leveraging them instead of simply packaging them. The banks simply underwrote what these GOVERNMENT AGENCIES wanted. Fannie & Freddie basically became an insanely leveaged real estate hedge fund.
Oh yeah, the GOVERNMENT eased lending standards back in the early 2000s to spur the economy. Banks might not have been sqeaky clean, but they simply provided what the GOVERNMENT was asking for. And Unions.......don't even get me started. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think that a person should get fired if they screw up, and should get rewarded if they do great. EVERYONE should be held to performance standards. Unions reward mediocrity without holding anyone accountable. They are a thing of the past...... Obama loves unions.....hopefully he is a thing of the past come 2012

Almost 1000 protesters arrested yet not one crook from Wall Street, Goldman etc has gone to jail or been indicted. Something wrong with that math.

Obviously Unions serve a purpose but I completely agree that these guys are hired guns sent down there to intimidate the builders and their crews simply because the Union contractors did not get the job.
They are bully's we all know exactly what they are trying to do with their Rat and their mindless antics.

Seriously folks.
Obama knows that his second term is in the toilet if unemployment stays where it is. There is a direct connection between Obama's campaign and the Occupy Wall Street protest. Just Google it "occupy wall street and link to Obama". Obama really needs to get unemployment below 8% to be re-elected. At the moment, it looks like Obama is toast. He really needs some or most of his jobs plan passed. OccupyWallSt folks are simply having their ropes yanked by the pols. Wake up.

So you think its ok for the for the harding working men and woman that get the job by giving the most competitive bid to be threatened with physical harm and followed home? yeah, looks like we left PH at just the right time - before the Tea Party contingent moved in... of course, the Goldman building going up - that was a sign of things to come
BTW - all unions are bad. And when the teachers & fire-fighters and all those municipal workers ask that we honor our pension obligations, they are threatening our collective financial security. Bankers are cool though, I want to be a banker...

Once again the Concrete Union protesters have been running wild in front of new construction in Paulus Hook! They blow up their stupid rat and try to intimidate the construction workers who have won the bid.
Why would a developer pay 50% more for a bunch of thugs making $50 per hour to sweep a floor and shovel stone? THOSE DAYS ARE OVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Arrest these animal/thugs and bring peace back to the neighborhood.
