It's hard to believe people wouldn't have antipathy towards the PATH.

After 9/11 the 33rd-Jrnl Sqr line was directed thru Hoboken during weekend daytime hours. That service reduction has never been corrected. And now they want to reduce service again for the weekends.

Fares go up, traveling public is bigger and service doesn't get better, it gets worse. And Sandy recovery was managed so very poorly.

Our very worst condo experiences have been with absentee landlords bringing in impossible tenants, not having done due diligence on background checks (at least check for arrest records!) because all they care about is getting their check - we're stuck living with 'em. And of course when we call / email to report problems with the tenants, no answer.

If I were going into another condo setting, I'd want to make sure that the owners actually lived in the building, so they care about it as much as you do.

First visit around 4pm on a Saturday - the croissants were AMAZING and the baguette we brought home was the REAL DEAL. We're really lucky to have something like this in JC.

Well, getting a parking spot in the mall doesn't solve the problem of having your car exposed and un-secured. It shouldn't be hard to see why people who signed a contract for a locked garage might be upset now that it's not.

+1 unhappy customer - & it's not really credible that the restaurant is going to suddenly find other parking in this area.

Just seems like pure greed - making your rent paying customers insecure, and perhaps unable to find a spot just for a little extra cash-grab.

Thanks for the info... It would be nice if neighbors in the area were alerted to local mains work by the city, maybe even using the JC emergency alert system that warns us of extreme weather etc ... yeah, I know I'm dreaming..

Was wondering if neighboring buildings were getting brown water this morning ? or if anybody knew if water main repairs were being made?

And let's not forget that before 9/11 daytime weekend service between JSQ & 33rd street didn't run thru Hoboken until 11PM - that service has NEVER been restored!

MTA had many more tunnels under water and a far bigger mess to clean up - why is this taking so long?

Sadly that earlier posted & informative article about the history of the Port Authority suggests that we're not going to see any satisfaction any time soon.

Just remembering when I used to bike up Port Liberte and was astonished that people paying enormous sums to live in a gated community would tolerate the enormous stink from the recycling plant right next door ... how is this not a health/quality of life problem for the residents? Is there any action to try to move this operation elsewhere?

yeah, looks like we left PH at just the right time - before the Tea Party contingent moved in... of course, the Goldman building going up - that was a sign of things to come

BTW - all unions are bad. And when the teachers & fire-fighters and all those municipal workers ask that we honor our pension obligations, they are threatening our collective financial security. Bankers are cool though, I want to be a banker...

Just avoid AAA Boro whatever you do. Our condo signed a contract for him to fix our leaky roof- a year ago! Now we're paying a second contractor even more cash to try to do what we hired AAA Boro to do.

We had in writing in the estimate and contract that he was to rip up the old roofing in a trouble spot, check for potential rot and water damage. We caught him just layering new roof over the area!

As the leaking persisted the contractor ignored almost all of our calls, set appointments & didn't show - it was all complete contractor nightmare!

Here's another vote for Joe's - we have a '93 Celica that's needed a lot of help over the years and he's always done a good job and never over-charged for anything - really a great guy.

Grace Church @ 39 Erie Street has been the traditional place to drop off unwanted books for their weekend book sale. Might just want to give a call first & check when's the best time to bring 'em

It looks like you're in luck - I've seen two concrete panels go up just north of the train terminal, right near the water-front - definitely looks like a parking garage going up - I can't wait!

I used to call Milesquare Locksmiths in Hoboken, very reliable nice family business - but I think they've sold it (when you call you get one of those corporate phone trees etc.) Got a small job but would like to get a recommendation on a similar kind of locksmith here in JC

Hold on - you're looking for some stranger on the JC-list to become your "partner", you already said you're not going to be around that much - and you expect this thing to be so successful that you can turn it into a franchise later ?!

Sounds like the making of one of those Gordan Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares !

Wow! We just went there for a Sat lunch - that's got to be the most boring chicken I've ever had in my life ! It's kind of hard to believe anyone would bother making a business selling such flavorless food - I mean, what the hell's the point? I wouldn't describe Atomic Wings as the greatest or anything, but at least if tasted like something. Seriously, you'd be better off going to almost any diner... and it'd probably be a lot cheaper as well.
