Thanks for confirming that a cop party err ..I mean gathering actually took place. I thought I was dreaming, but I do remember actually counting the marked vehicles. Those were just the ones on the street not the ones in the full parking lot. It sounds like they were from all over the city and not just one district.

Do you really think good old Pasquale would let those guys starve..come on.

So the cops go to a meeting on the citizens dime to find out how the state is going to screw then while they are in turn screwing the citizens for those few hours..how rich is that! (no pun intended)

I wish I could walk off my job for a few hours and attend a grip session in a nice restaurant. Difference being in my case a few numbers wouldn?t get crunched!! No harm no foul!

I am pro JC cop but the sight of all of those vehicles did kind of piss me off a little. I have been to JC cop ?parties ? back in the day so my imagination really kicked in. They didn?t have any ?short people? there did they?

Sorry - I probably got my jargon wrong. I don't cop talk. To be more precise - who was responding to the requests of the citizens expecting to be served and protected?

Hmmm.... the difference between Puccini's and the precinct. How is the shrimp parm at the precinct? Does it vary from precinct to precinct? Seriously - was there food and drink served? Who paid for it? Did they pay full price? You can't be so obtuse as to pretend that at least the potential for abuse exists in such an arrangement.

What makes me laugh is the fact no one complains about the supposed heroes who get PAID to sleep, are supplied with sleeping equipment, hang outside their place of employment and shoot the breeze, and learn to be gourmet cooks. This all being paid for by the taxpayer who is fooled by it all. The job they work is like a second job to them. It's nice they are all rested in the morning to go to their real jobs........but no complaints about them......wait till the city lays off cops, then you will have a crime rate to complain about. Oh, about those other heroes. When they have to work I wouldn't want to do what they do, but really it's not like it was in the old days. They are basically paid laborers whose training cannot come anywhere near that of a police officers.

Hey jackey

I, for one, am willing to flush the toilet and see what plops up next.

Couple of questions then, Jackey. Why would that kind of thing be at Puccini's? And why was the police motor pool there? Seems like that is a meeting that should be attended off-duty. Are we to understand that no one was policing the city while the meeting was going on?

I drove by Puccini?s restaurant on Westside and Broadway at around 5:00 pm Tuesday and saw 12 marked cop cars, a couple of police motorcycles, and a police emergency truck. I thought angry terrorists hit Puccini?s at first..but the food isn?t bad enough to warrant an attack on Pasquale . All of the vehicles were parked in spots along Broadway and Westside. Not a copper in sight. I then drove back around 6:30 pm there were even more marked cop cars lining the street I swear there had to be 20 to 30 cop cars.

Does anyone know what the shindig was for? Criminals must of had a field day between 5:00 pm and ???
