The bar you are thinking of where the guy got shot in the leg and died was between The Junction and Lincoln HS on Communipaw not in Lafayette.

I do not understand why when a crime occurs in or near business why people blame the establishment and not the one committing the crime. When many 24 hour businesses where closed early in 2004 through out the city in a misguided attempt to bring down crime that didn't work one bit. The following year crime was even worst.

If this did in fact happen at Halladay the police station is more than 10 blocks away.

Another typical day in Healytown....shootings are a regular occurrence in Jersey City and continue to get worse under Mayor Healy's leadership.

Another "blame the victim" here why must we always "throw the baby out with the bath water" ?? With all of these car accidents I guess we should get rid of all the cars.

Three people shot outside Jersey City bar By Ken Thorbourne/The Jersey Journal May 09, 2010, 7:09PM Three people standing outside a Jersey City bar were shot early yesterday when a hooded gunman unleashed a barrage of fire power, according to police reports. Police recovered seven spent shells from a 9mm gun and two lead projectiles in the area shortly after the shooting that occurred at about 1 a.m. at Communipaw Avenue and Halladay Street, reports said. The three victims -- 23- and 24-year-old females, and a 22-year-old male, all of Jersey City -- suffered non-life threatening wounds, reports said. A witness told police he saw a hooded man across the street from the bar who appeared to have a cast on one arm, open fire, reports said. The witness, who could not identify the gunman, told cops he saw two women "running for their lives," reports said. Interviewed at the Jersey City Medical Center where she was being treated for a gunshot wound to her left calf and also a leg fracture, the 24-year-old victim told police she was heading back into the bar when she heard four shots, reports said. When she attempted to run, she fell and realized she was shot, and other people fell on top of her, she said, according to reports. The male victim told cops he was standing outside smoking a cigarette when he heard four to five shots. He was shot in his left arm, reports said. The third victim, who suffered a wound to her left arm area, was uncooperative with police, reports said. None of the victims said they could identify the gunman. There are at least three security cameras in the area and police will be reviewing those tapes, reports said.
