Oh. That's kind of a problem, then. Joe told me I should get all new tires because my current ones are in rough shape. So now I have to get the tires myself and bring them to Ralph's?

Any other reliable tire places where they actually sell tires?

If nothing else, I guess I can go to Sears.

Only problem with Ralph's is they don't sell tires.

Another positive vote for Ralph's.

I've ordered tires from TireRack.com and had them shipped to my apartment and then installed at Ralph's (even though they weren't an authorized TireRack installer.)

They did a fine job with the mounting and balancing and work quickly. And they take American Express.

Ralph?s is an institution!
They?re good at what they do, quick and cheap.
Usually they have the jacks right on the street waiting so when you pull up they?re ready to take whichever tire off and work on it. Never had a problem with them.

I bring my car to Joe's Auto Electric for repairs, and this time I had a low tire. He put air in it but recommended bringing it to Ralph's at 4th and Erie to see if it's a leak. Does anyone have experience with this place? Are they trustworthy? Any other tire place to recommend?

Ralph's on 4th and Erie are the absolute best. In and out in a heartbeat. And, they can deal with any kind of tire problem. Believe me, I've had them all. And..... the best part .... the price is f***in reasonable ... better than reasonable ... I pay them more than they ask for because I sincerely believe their prices are toooooo low.

Exactly! I made the mistake of taking my car there for an oil change.

I found grease on the outside of my car door, on the door handle, on the steering wheel and shift knob. Oh and a pen mark on the inside door panel.

Never again!

Yup. I second that recommendation.

5 minutes and on your way.

Depends on when you go. they can take a long time sometimes and are generally clueless imo.
Sears is good but they are trained to sell you new tires, but if you get a new tire they will fix flats if you get the warranty.

I use Luigi's on Fairmont just off of Grand St.
Cheap, reliable and fast.

Or there is that place on Erie near 3rd or 4th.

Yeah, I went to Pep Boys and they told me it would be a looooong wait. I just took my tire off in the parking lot myself, brought it in & asked them to put a new one onto the rim. It took 30 minutes & I saved money on the labor.

Just stay away from Pep Boys. That's the best advice I can offer.

This place is called Ralph's Tire repair. They normally close at 6:00 but sometimes earlier- maybe dependent on weather. I would call them first to let them know you will be coming by after 5:00.

(201) 659-9212

Otherwise you can try Sears or BJ's.

there's a place on the corner of erie and fourth. sort of an odd place for it - middle of mostly residential. never had a flat fixed there but it's probably inexpensive and it looks like they've been there forever so they're probably okay at what they do.
