Choosing between these two guys is like choosing death by hanging or by electrocution.

It is rather amusing for Corzine to complain about anyone else giving out personal loans; It is also rather foolish. It just gives the media a reason to bring up Carla Katz.

I seemed to miss the the Corzine press release calling for the resignation of Geithman as Treasury Secretary. It seems rather hypicritical to call out Christie for tax violations while being ok with having a Treasury Secretary that cheated on their taxes. The IRS is part of the Treasury Department. It is hard to believe the guy who is in charge of the IRS got caught cheating on their taxes.

They All get involved in qrid-pro-quo. There were several items in the 1000 page hc proposal, that would have lined the pockets of Alcorn.
We know we get a sleaze ball with Corzine and higher & higher taxes..so Christie cannot be worse.

Corzine and Christie both have serious ethical issues...I encourage all to explore Chris Daggett for Gov.

Something else seems to have escaped these two U. S. senators ? namely, that they are U.S. senators. Which means their getting a loan at a preferential rate through the head of a corporation like Countrywide, which was very much dependent on favorable treatment by the government before it came crashing down at great expense to the taxpayers, is quite different from a private citizen?s getting a mortgage at the same preferential rate.

Why? Because the private citizen is in no position to return the favor through political influence. Which is why the ethical standards expected of public officials are higher. Or at least should be. That crucial distinction used to be well understood. I?m not so sure it is now.

If we get our panties in a bunch over something like that, half of Obama's cabinet couldn't serve in government. Remember, Geitner didn't even pay penalties, just back taxes. Try suggesting that to the IRS next time they come knocking.

The IRS has nothing to do with the ethics guidelines. The IRS issues he has almost certainly involve breaking laws. In addition he seems to have breached ethics guidelines. So I would say he broke the law.

Who should I pick a fat face corrupt liar or someone who obviously mistakenly forgot to fill out tax paperwork?

the law required him to do something,. he didn't do it so he broke the law..even if these were just ethics laws

I'm a Democrat and don't like Christie, but I can't get too excited about this. It seems pretty innocent to me. I'd rather nail him for using his Justice Department office for political purposes including strategy discussions with Karl Rove and the highly unusual leak about Menendez just before the 2006 election that appears to have taken Christie off of the Bush White House US Attorney hit list.

He didn't break the law, he broke ethics rules.

Corzine Rival Failed to Report Loan on Tax Returns

Christopher J. Christie, the Republican challenging Gov. Jon S. Corzine, failed to report income on his tax returns from a loan he gave to a top aide while he was New Jersey?s ranking federal prosecutor, Mr. Christie said on Tuesday.

Mr. Christie also failed to report the $46,000 loan as required under federal and state ethics rules.

The aide, Michele A. Brown, borrowed the money in 200 7 from Mr. Christie while he was United States attorney for New Jersey and she was his executive assistant and counsel, according to mortgage records in Morris County.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday afternoon in Cherry Hill, Mr. Christie apologized and said he was in the process of amending his state and federal financial disclosures, as well as his tax returns for 2007. He described the omission as an oversight. ?When I make mistakes, I?m going to admit them,? he said.

He said it did not occur to him that the loan was reportable because Ms. Brown was paying it back, nor did he see a reason to now sever the financial relationship with his former aide. He said he saw no ethical problems with an underling borrowing money from her boss. ?There was nothing I was trying to conceal or hide,? he said.

Ms. Brown was promoted to first assistant United States attorney after Mr. Christie resigned last December to begin his campaign for governor.

News of the loan and Mr. Christie?s failure to disclose it came as a jolt to his campaign, which has endured several days of bad press after months of smooth sailing. Mr. Christie has positioned himself as a corruption fighter based on his record as a prosecutor, and he has tried to hold Governor Corzine responsible for corruption and ethical breakdowns in New Jersey government.

The New Jersey Network reported the existence of the loan on Monday.

Mr. Christie said Ms. Brown asked for help when her husband, who had lost his job, ran up debt on his credit cards. Mr. Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, live a few hundred yards from Ms. Brown and her husband in Mendham.

Mr. Christie said he received a second mortgage on Ms. Brown?s home, which was in her name only, and had been receiving regular payments ever since. County records show the loan was dated Oct. 22, 2007, and carried a 5.5 percent yearly interest rate, with monthly payments of $499.22 over 10 years.
