I liked the Cebu style ribs at Legal Beans the one time I've had them, they're huge, very flavorful and sweet, although a bit fatty. I haven't tried their Espresso-rubbed spareribs.

having tried both dinosaur locations in newark and harlem, i will highly recommend the harlem location.

if nothing else, the salted potatoes that NEWARK DOES NOT F(&*^ING SELL make it a winner.

and yea, RUB got screwed when that car plowed through their storefront. They eventually reopened, but had lost so much $ that they decided to call it

I have had the ribs at Europa and enjoyed them but they are not prepared in the style of traditional american barbeque. They are very simply seasoned and not smoked. I assume this topic was meant to be about barbeque ribs which unfortunately are not well represented in JC.

I too am sorry to read that RUB has closed. The food was good and it was only about a block from the PATH which made it a very easy trip from JC.

I have tried Dinosaur BBQ in Newark once and was disappointed when told that they were out of ribs that evening. I know good BBQ takes time to prepare but for a place that stakes it reputation on BBQ it shows very poor planning to run out of a signature menu item.

+1 only negative you have to get there early. They either do not make enough food, or they sell out pretty fast.

Darn! I didn't even realize that RUB BBQ was closed until I read it here... that sucks. That place was AWESOME.

As for other good options, head west to Newark and hit up Dinosaur BBQ. Their brisket is very good, the pulled pork is perfect and the ribs are also very good. Plus, they have a ton of craft beers on tap. Definitely worth it. If you go by PATH, it is a short walk from Penn Station.

I agree with Almike, the ribs at legal beans are not my favorite but thief pulled pork is pretty good. For decent ribs you're gonna have to go to the city. I was a fan of Rub BBQ until they closed. :(.

Sadly, I have yet to find really good ribs in Jersey City except out of someone's backyard. Up on the hill you can get good smoke at a couple of sporadic street cookers.

There is BBQ at Legal Beans. But I did not think they were too tasty.

Is there anywhere to get ribs in JC? Besides Chili's. Yelp doesn't seem to be of much help here.
