What do New Jersey and France have in common? Both are considering banning entirely the increasingly controversial and environmentally damaging process of natural gas extraction popularly known as fracking.
You know what else France and New Jersey have in common? Neither produces any significant amount of natural gas. Symbolic measures, at best.

Spectra can suck it, as Kathy Griffin says.

FERC has not announced the release of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Once they do, the public has 45 days to comment which is why we are collecting signatures to our petition in advance of this notification. ALL petitions submitted online go to us and we will print and mail them to FERC with plenty of time.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 2, 2011 CONTACT Dale Hardman 347-789-7508 nogaspipeline@gmail.com www.nogaspipeline.org DATE: May 3, 2011 NO Gas Pipeline issues Petition to Stop Spectra Energy Gas pipeline in advance of FERC?s Environmental Impact Statement NO Gas Pipeline has released a petition to stop Spectra Energy?s gas pipeline for citywide distribution as well as making it available online. FERC recently sent a letter to Spectra compelling them to answer questions by May 13 before FERC issues the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for public comments. The public will have 45 days to comment from time of release. Subsequent to final comments, FERC will then provide a final ruling as to Spectra?s pipeline. ?We think that FERC will rule on behalf of Spectra based on their past approvals of 100% of filings.? said Dale Hardman of No Gas Pipeline. ?Spectra were collecting petition signatures on behalf of their pipeline with mis-leading information as to job creation which we refute on our site under two articles and on our petition. "NO gas Pipeline petitions will create media interest and bring focus on Spectra before their shareholders. We have volunteers throughout the city that can simply download our petition, print it, collect signatures and either mail them to FERC themselves or deliver them to us, and we will mail them. We are a DIY site and encourage volunteers to either use our form or print their own.? The Eastern Environmental Law Center, who also intervened on behalf of NJ Sierra and Food & Water Watch, represents NO Gas Pipeline. Go to www.nogaspipeline.org for more information.
