Been going to the one in Hoboken almost daily for the last few months. Best espresso in town, and the ham and cheese croissant is addictive--cheese and a small sliver of ham baked right inside. Seriously couldn't be happier about this place being here. Great people too.

That's a shame, those buildings are actually quite beautiful, if they are the ones I am thinking about. They have a kind of Tudor-esque feel to them with copper green highlights.

MY girlfriend is the tax accountant for MLB and she is always looking to pick up a little extra $ this time of year. Prior to that she worked at E&Y. Feel free to call me at work if you would like her to help you out. 2017486477.

I LOVE the lime taco...had 2 last night, with steak.

Can't wait to try the margarita, bet it's just as good as the tacos.

A lot of the times the owners have no idea about the skimming taking place, these devices are amazingly unnoticeable in some instances.

Whoever took the picture of the grey cay, can you please let me know if his ear is snipped.

It may be my old neighborhood/outdoor cat "Mr. Grey" aka "Buddy" aka "Handsome" (depending on who's backyard he was in at the time) over near Grove and Grand (behind the Taqueria and that row of brownstones).

Thanks!

2 things:

1. There was a missing cat reported on here that looks like it may be that grey one. (Missing from Grove Street near city hall.

2. Robin, do you know where one could dispose of razor wire? Is there a town agency that would come pick it up?

My apartment building just redid our back yard fence and removed razor wire that was placed there in the 90s, but it remains coiled up in the back yard and I have no idea what to do with it.

Thanks.

The scary thing is, they can get the most information from bank ATM machines due to increased amount of space to place not only the skimmer, but a camera to record your pin number.

http://nerdtrek.com/keep-credit-cards-safe-skimmers/

I know it sounds crazy and if there's a line you may get a few weird stares, but you should give the machine a quick once over before using it...

The weird thing is, I was in a rush and had a difficult time inserting my card at the PATH station--almost had to force it. And yes, I agree that it is bad thievery doing this at that location, but my gut tells me that was it. Anyway, I am going to send the detective to the Shell station as well.

Personally I am going back to cash.

Credit card skimming in Jersey City

It's the only place I used my card with the exception of the Shell Gas Station outside the Holland Tunnel. Google: skimming device and see what they look like. I have had about 200 dollars worth of charges charged to my account.

Tommy is great, the beer specials are great, but the sandwich I had at brunch last weekend was possibly the worth brunch sandwich I have ever eaten:

1. I asked for eggs over (came scrambled)
2. Bacon not overdone, but burnt
3. Tomatoes were grainy (yes, grainy)
4. When I bit into the bread it broke apart making picking it up again after the first bite impossible.

Told the waitress that the sandwich was pretty bad when she came and checked and she said, "oh, i'm so sorry," but no further action was taken.

Not a big deal and I know this place is still getting its footing, but brunch is something that on paper seems easy but in reality it is hard to pull off. I often think it's better to JUST serve an Irish Breakfast type thing at brunch until the service/items are perfected. I will definitely be back and the wings are outstanding--haven't had the burger yet, but looking forward to it. Oh, and PLEASE get good coffee for the weekends--makes so much of a difference!

It's not going to be the same...the flamingo was an institution and whoever bought this place ruined that...best of luck with the new restaurant though.

Eaten there 2x, and the first time it was great (chicken sandwich) second time I ordered the veggie burger and it was honestly the worst veggie burger I have ever eaten...Just don't offer one if it's going to be a veggie puck. It does more harm than good (by the way, I have a bad-ass homemade recipe for a veg burger if they want it...PM me). That being said, the place has the coolest feel of any bar in the JC.

I went to the open house and saw these condos as well. Very well put together--original doors and great old-tile bathrooms, nice flooring. The one thing that concerned me is that I could hear everything through the walls. IN a building with 11 units, that could present a problem. That being said, they are beautiful. (Did you see the paintings in the foyer?)

One thing to look into, has the basement (parlor) ever flooded? I don't know if you were here for the hurricane, but parts of JC were under 3-5 feet of water.

Re: Taqueria

My God, you people are so corny! If you don't like the Taqueria then don't go. Phil and Andrea are restaurant owners--they are not your friends, they are not your phone service providers and your calls will not be recorded for training purposes. They run 2 great restaurants that make great addictive food in a high pressure environment, if you enjoy it then continue to go, they would love (i'm sure) to have you pay them for this food, but stop being whiny babies. The statement that was made about the clientele was a response to someone insulting their new-born. The person is lucky they only lashed out online and didn't get smacked--and from what I read, they deserved it.

If anyone on here had a serious problem and had the class (uh oh there's that word again...) to go talk to them face to face I'm sure both parties would leave all peachy and stuff, but the ongoing whining is so overplayed at this point.

Phil and Andrea, please don't close the JC store, even though my g/f lives around the corner from the shop in the e-vil, I'm still only there on the weekends.

...in real life.

I second the Taqueria's chicken soup, but ask them for a side of the hot sauce to pour in...that, the cilantro, and the lime should do the trick.

For the last 20 years I have gone to George's Garage in Linden, and he recently went out of business.

I need a new muffler, engine flushed, shocks, and tire rotation--nothing too big, so any local recommendations would be appreciated.
