Since you live in the Heights according to your name, you have no idea what people will face especially when school parents and schools buses take Jersey and Newark to P.S. #3 and Middle School #4. Now there is talk of making Jersey Avenue leading into LSP into road. Just how much traffic can a place support before it stops? It doesn't bother you. You just like to throw your venom and live up to your name of Heights Brat.

Let's not let the truth get in the way of YOUR continual negative rants about how horrid everything is and it doesn't fit YOUR idea of Utopia. I have lived in the Heights where there are clusters of schools and any rational person learns to cope (except YOU). I reside in another area now, but not downtown, and the problems are still the same. YOU are just a bore. And judging by the posts by others I am not the only one. And by the way old girl, YOU have used this post before. And just to prove YOUR insanity, YOU can bore everyone with YOUR rants but I can't spew forth or have YOU forgotten this is a democracy and not the world according to Yvonne?

Have a nice life and remember YOUR kind of depression and obsession and stress kills. Take time and smell the roses and enjoy the coffee. But then again, since this is YOU we are talking about YOU probably hate roses because they make YOU sneeze and attract bees and the coffee probably makes YOU break out in hives. YOU are just a totally joyless person.

ding ding ding ding, we have a winner!

I've said this before, but Mayor Fulop could literally single-handedly develop a cure for cancer and Yvonne would find some negative spin to it. Along with her choir boy Fletcher and some other failed politicians they will never find the positive and always look for the negative in anything the city does. Ultimately, I pity these people. Not for losing horribly in local elections, but for their obsession with those who are simply better than them at life.

Trafficageddon? Nonexistant! And this weekend, I drove to eat at Box and found a parking spot after about 3 minutes of looking.

The Jersey Journal ran a story on murals in the spotlight section, so here is the question. Why are the majority of the murals in Downtown JC? The paper shows 7 murals in print, 6 are in downtown JC, five of the six are on Newark Avenue, the other is Cole Street. The other image in the paper is on MLK Drive. Isn't there six wards in the city? Also, there is a ?Take a Tour Box? on the murals which list the addresses of all of the murals, it is heavy with downtown addresses. This reminds me of complaints at Board of Ed meetings that school money goes to downtown schools.

Well obviously this is because our non-christian, abatement loving Mayor has made it a priority to only have murals downtown. He actually made it a top priority of the administration to ensure murals only show up downtown. Don't you remember this quote from his inauguration: "I have a dream, of murals only in downtown."

Seriously though, your obsession with this administration, while very entertaining, is borderline worrisome. Don't you have hobbies or things you like to do other than obsess over Mayor Fulop and anyone else not named Yun or Boggiano?

And yes, there are 6 wards in Jersey City ;) .

Was in the area from 5:30-8:30 and the traffic on Barrow/Erie/Grove was utterly nonexistent. Alternatively, there was a good amount of foot traffic the entire time and LITM, who seemed to be taking advantage most of the extra space, was packed outside. Not too shabby for a Tuesday night. Maybe our resident neighsayer will pick another issue to make a low budget YouTube video about which will have zero impact on anything.

By that logic, isn't calling a car service phone-assisted hitchhiking? Uber cars are licensed, regulated, and insured so not sure how you are making any distinction other than that all Uber drivers have full background checks done on them (same CANNOT be said about limo and yellow/white taxis) and the entire trip once you are picked up is logged, which is a huge safety feature for women riding alone.

So Dan, what would you and your Team Healy have proposed to do here? It's easy to say "cut spending!" but what would you actually do if you and Team Healy won? What items would you cut from the budget?

This sounds nice. So what are the commissions the city pays now? How do we know a flat fee would have been cheaper? Did the 3-year deal allow for a lower commission? What were the reasons for choosing a 3-year contract over a 1-year contract? What other cities have changed models similar to this? Did they see similar results?

While I appreciate the offer to meet, I frankly don't know what we would talk about? I guess I would ask you how you could shoot this video with a straight face?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEjetFzyYgo

So you commute to NYC from one of these stations every day during rush hour? Funny, because I have taken the train during rush hour every day for many many years and not once have I seen you.

Also, aside from when there are delays, it is not common to not be able to fit on a train. Yes, this happens on occasion, but if you need breathing room you should not be taking a commuter train into Manhattan during rush hour, regardless of what rail system you are on.

What I find amusing is that Dr. Chinai spoke about his patients while opposing this. In my volunteer work with recovering addicts at JCMC his "practice" is the most cited as being an easy pill spot. I don't know any local that I worked with there who has not gone to him regularly for whatever they were addicted to. He knows that he has supplied pain killers to addicts for years (have confronted him about it many times) yet he does nothing to change his ways and is very well trained in writing scripts.

Regardless, it really is just the old guard who oppose this, and generally oppose any change. Thus this may have to wait for them to die off/move away, but I am confident this will happen.

Thank you for choosing to adopt! It is so sad how many healthy dogs are euthanized every year, but adoptions are up while commercial sales are down, so you are definitely on the right side of history!

If you are 200% sure you are ready for a dog, then you should waste no time! If the mother is healthy and puppy definitely has full hearing, I would assume you are good on that front. In addition, there are a ton of rescue organizations that have puppies available. I know the Monmouth SPCA has a puppy adoption center in the Freehold Mall as well.

Lining the streets, I saw the flags flying proudly on Avenue C in Bayonne. Sadly, JC is doing nothing to honor those veterans.

Yvonne - Why do you specify WWI & WWII? JC residents have fought and lost loved ones in every war. What are your criteria on the battles we should give a special "honor" to? Will you be upset if there aren't flags up to honor Iwo Jima, or Gettysburg? How about the battle of Yorktown? I'm sure JC has a stake in those historic battles as well. .

I wouldn't look for logic or consistency from Yvonne. She gets off taking shots at this administration.

Mayor Fulop was recently in DC pushing for major reforms to how we take care of vets, but Yvonne is all bent out of shape about the lack of flags on our streets. Of course, if they did expense flags she would point out how incredible a waste of city money it is. Like the nice old lady who obsessively cleans up Grove Street from Montgomery to York, you need to just let these types of people be and not interfere.

Unfortunately everyone I've met who blames the Mayor doesn't comprehend that this is voted on by the development board, and NOT the Mayor nor the Council, and that there is absolutely zero precedent of a city doing what the BoE wants this city to do. Anyone remotely living in the 21st century knows these tours do very well with people intrigued by an area who do not have a lot of time to explore every eatery, along with locals who want to treat their friends/family to a taste of multiple eateries at once. It's a shame we still have some old lonely souls who have nothing better to do than play couch critic and insult others' ideas while contributing nothing aside from adding to our C02 levels.

State Senator Steve Sweeney is making another attempt to reorganize the Rutgers Board of Governors whereby politicians would be appointing a majority of the Board Members. This is a move by Sweeney and his puppet master George Norcross who have targeted control of Rutgers for several years.

This would be absolutely horrible for Rutgers and NJ, and frankly I cannot stand Steve Sweeney and I'm sure many here share that sentiment.

PLEASE call your senator and assemblypeople TODAY!!!

Find your representatives here

The Senate bill is S1860, and the Assembly version is A3046. Please email them letting them know you stand against Steve Sweeney's hostile takeover of Rutgers University.
