anyone planning to take this road toward downtown today...don't! Not a grain of salt on it. as a result the road has nice layer of very slippery snow. I saw someone get rear ended I a myself almost hit the Subaru in front me even though I tried to keep a good 100 feet. In sheer desperation I put the car in reverse which slowed it down enough and stopped only 10 feet away . I think I might have damaged my transmission a little since there was this grinding noise.

Summit Avenue Bridge over Route 139 and Route 139 Upper Level eastbound reopening in Jersey City

St. Paul?s Avenue also reopening and all detours will be removed

(Trenton) -New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the reopening this Friday of the Summit Avenue Bridge over Route 139, as well as Route 139 Upper Level eastbound between JFK Boulevard and Central Avenue in Jersey City as the Pulaski Skyway Contract 2 nears completion.

On Friday, February 8, NJDOT?s contractor, Schiavone Construction, will make final adjustments to the new traffic signal at Summit Avenue and Route 139 Upper Level, as well as the existing traffic signals at Summit and Newark Avenues; and JFK Boulevard and Route 139 in order to reopen both the Summit Avenue Bridge over Route 139 and Route 139 Upper Level eastbound. St. Paul?s Avenue between JFK Boulevard and Route 139 eastbound also will be reopened. All roads should be open by 5 p.m. Friday, February 8.

Yes, this is great news, was definitely weirdly excited when I realized there was traffic coming towards me from the opposite side.
Although, I'm disappointed that they didn't restore that service road that peeled off onto Baldwin that let one skip the lines at the light.

Maybe its a part of the extended 8 year closure plan!?

After what seemed like an eternity , summit ave bridge and 139 are open. cut about 4 minutes from my drive home
